HJC i100 - Metal Black

Delivered on time as normal by Sportsbikeshop. Helmet feels quality and is really comfortable straight out of the box. Visor feels a little flimsy but the mechanism when flipping the chin section fully backwards is excellent. Overall pleased with the design, fit, and functionality of the helmet. The most important part of a review of any helmet should be about the protection and happily this has been tested - hence 4 stars

I purchased the HJC I-100 in Lorix Red as an upgrade helmet for commuting. So far I am very impressed with the helmet and the flip over system (something I need heading through security where I work), plus one with a good ECE rating. The helmet is comfortable although it is much tighter in full face face mode than open face (although it should break in a little), so ensure you buy the right size for you, preferably try one on if you can. The helmet comes with a free pinlock lens, I'm a huge fan of these and always have them fitted so it's an added bonus. I have added an aftermarket comms system (HJC is also available), this fitted with no issues whatsoever, the usual groves are present within the helmet. I would recommend this helmet, hopefully the flip over system has good longevity.

I've had this helmet 3 months now and like the helmet..,it's functions and it's comfort.but.....the visor...the small clips that hold the visor in keep breaking, 1st time hjc replaced it, then when I lifted the visor up it came out of the clips so i was left with the visor hanging off my helmet so it sent back for repair and 1 week later I'm on holiday and the other side clip has snapped off, will have to wait till I get home to find out what happens next so knowing what I know now I would look at something else

Fast delivery, in perfect condition, nice and comfortable if a little noisier than full face.

I have tried various brands but feel HJC fit my head like as it should, snug without being tight. they should.
I find the visor aperture is right, allowing plenty of vision when making a lifesaver before deviating, without having to twist the head around.
The recesses for the HJC headphones and microphone are all well placed and even though it's a new helmet, nothing causes the ears to be uncomfortable until it's all bedded in. Cheek pads fit well and not too tight.
I would recommend these helmets.

Chin piece vent could be fixed better,lost mine and had it replaced with a hassle free service by sportsbikeshop.Tried loads of helmets but this hjc i100 was spot on,even wearing glasses.With a separate flip down shade too that can used separately to the main visor.
Easy flip front,easy access to cheek pads for further fitting of my sena 10's speakers and mic boom.

Wanted a modular full flip helmet and this HJC is so far looking great. The flip operates easily and good ventilation with the chin piece down. Noise levels seem good but haven't been on any longer rides yet also love the colour option

Great versatile helmet. Comforatble, not too heavy. Flip front and visor is easy to use. It's also really easy to install an intercom.

I was very apprehensive about buying my first helmet after being away from bikes for years. I had no worries, after measuring my head (61cm) I ordered the XL, HCJ i100 perfect fit. Seems a little noisy when taking the bike to higher speeds but that might be just down to my tinutus. After all not everyone is the same.

Very comfortable, although did size up from previous HJC Helmet.
Great modular design which allows for full face of open face. Great for summer and winter riding .

Chin strap is not easy to adjust but only needs to do once.
Interior finish is Good.
Flip front is good and easy to use.
All round a nice fairly light helmet

Very pleased with the i100. Good fit for me and a lot quieter than my previous flip & one piece helmets.. Field of vision is also better. I wear specs & hearing aids, being quieter I do not need to mute or ride without my aids. Not ridden more the 50 miles yet but weight not yet an issue. Really good to have all the options.

Purchased 8 months ago and used daily.

Weight:heavier helmet than most I've had from hjc but it's not gonna snap you neck or stop you from lifting your head up to see where your going.

ventilation:open or closed great.
Wind noise: low speed quiet/high speed you might want ear plugs if it bothers you but with tunes on your b.tooth on can't hear it.
Vision: you can see everything and drop down sun visor is adjustable. Nice and not had that before in an hjc. No longer just up or down it goes lower.
Style: for a modular helmet it looks good to me prefer this over the ls2 or sharks similar versions.
Fit: well comfy never had an uncomfortable hjc.
Quality: overall great and I wouldn't have thought when I got it I could complain but ... a component in the chin bar mechanism broke and had to be replaced which was carried out by SBS.(excellent service and turn around as always. Top marks people!) but that's the only place it drops points for me. Since replaced and fixed it's working as should but it's an obvious weak point on this lid and maybe any similar models made by other manufacturers. Maybe a one off occurrence but how long will it last before it possibly goes again..... If it hadn't had broken my rating would have been excellent for this lid for what I use it for.

I chose this as I ride for blood bikes and needed a flip up helmet in white. The ability to easily flip the chin bar behind is brilliant and works great with the visor in the lower position for around town.
I still find it is a struggle to get my glasses positioned.
The visibility at the peripheries is good.
The wind noise on the motorway if the bike does not have good wind protection is terrible even with ear plugs.
