Verified Customer Reviews for Richa Arctic Gore-Tex Gloves
Our customers say…
Customers praised the Richa Arctic gloves, highlighting improvements in the GTX version. They appreciated the warmth, fit, and waterproof capabilities, although some noted issues with bulkiness and finger length. The Gore-Tex version was favored for its better weather and impact protection, justifying its higher price. Despite minor complaints about stiffness and effectiveness in extreme cold, the overall consensus was positive, with many commending the gloves' comfort, fit, and durability. The gloves were particularly recommended for winter riding.

Just been for a run to try these out ,freezing day hands are nice and warm impressed. Not sure about waterproofing as not been in rain yet.Would consider getting one size bigger than your norm as there a snug fit

Brilliant winter gloves
14 December 2024 by Tony L
The seams on my 7-year-old Richa Arctic gloves - still waterproof! - had started to show signs of separating, so I decided to go for these as an upgrade.
As others have said, they're initially quite stiff, but they seem lighter (yet also seem marginally warmer) than the standard Arctics.
Stitching, hand-protection and the visor-wipe are good, and on its high-sensitivity setting, my TomTom Rider 550 touch-screen is usable while wearing them.
For me, they're a good fit, and have so far been warm enough for 45 minutes at about 5% without hand guards or heated grips. They're also 100% waterproof, having been tested in the recent wet weather. Based on their predecessors, I'm confident they'll last several years.

Almost perfect
11 December 2024 by Brendan M
Gloves so far are excellent. Warm, comfortable, do keep the weather out. I have cold hands and commute 45 mins all year so need decent gloves. Normally I use thinner gloves with muffs but decided to change it up with larger gloves wand heated grips. The gloves are good as they allow feel and control but the outers good enough to keep out the chill. Ends of fingers a bit cold when sun zero but not unduly so. Id definitely buy them again depending on how they wear over time and whether they stretch. They fitted me well out the box and despite other reviews definitely not too tight and I am a medium and medium was fine.

Worth the money
07 December 2024 by Graham
Warm, comfortable gloves with plenty of protection. Only used in light rain so far, but they are goretex so not expecting any issues. Getting more and more comfortable every time I wear them. Best gloves I've ever bought.

A great glove that's water proof and warm
12 October 2024 by Paul H
I just bought these in time for an October Scotland tour. The weather was rarely above 10 degrees c, and was often wet... my hands however stayed dry and toasty with the addition of heated grips.
They feel a bit stiff and puffy compared to summer gloves, but this should ease with more wear.

Comfortable
01 October 2024 by Max B
I bought these gloves looking for a bombproof pair of winter gloves after the stitching on my RST ones fell apart just outside the warranty. One of the aspects that attracted me to them was what appeared to be protection on the cuff. This is in fact a soft gel like material so completely useless for impact protection - but that's what it looks like they've made it to look like. IF it was on the palm it could be used to relieve pressure - the kind of gel pad in cycling mits. We want kevlar, gore-tex and protection!
I like the fact it has a securing strap around the wrist. Could have a lot more impact protection is the bottom line but otherwise a comfortable glove. FYI I have had no issues with long fingers as mentioned in other reviews. I will most definitely endeavour to purchase in store for new summer gloves next year.

Very long fingers
16 June 2024 by Paul N
Bought these in size large, which is the size of my summer gloves and the old torn winter ones they replace. Width wise these are perfect, but they're at least a thumb width too long on every finger - which can cause problems with switches.
I've only worn these 4-5 times, twice in torrential "summer" rain. It was that heavy I could wring the rainwater out the leather, but both times my hands remained dry, so the Gore-tex did it's job.
Gloves are a little stiff due to the knuckle protection, but that doesn't restrict maneuverability.
Can't comment on how warm they are or aren't in cold weather.
All in all, great waterproof gloves - but definitely try before you buy.

Excellent
22 December 2023 by Andrew
I wanted a pair of gloves that will keep my hands warm and dry on cold days and protect them in the event I came off. I spent ages looking at reviews and this brought me to the Richa artic non gore tex £99 or the gore tex version for £145. The reviews highlighted the gore tex on the £145 pair but this seemed to be the only benefit but the pictures online showed the gore Tex pair had more protection. I ordered a pair of the none gore Tex and the gore Tex gloves to try on and compare. Sure enough the gore Tex pair does indeed have more of the protective padding in the key areas whilst being less bulky than the non gore Tex pair. In short although the gore Tex pair are £46 more than the none gore Tex pair for this extra cost you get better weather protection, better impact protection and they are a lot less bulky and just feel soft, supple and all round great. By trying both versions on side by side the extra £46 for the gore Tex version made it an easy decision to pay the extra. I kept the gore Tex gloves and love them. I returned the none gore Tex gloves for a no hassle no quibble refund. I'm surprised the manufacturers don't highlight the upgrade differences the gore Tex gloves offer.

Not warm!
07 December 2023 by Frank C
A lot of other reviews have mentioned that these are very warm gloves but in 5 - 10 degree weather they really weren't doing the job after about 40 minutes. I have a pair of Alpinestars SMX-2 Air Carbon V2 which I use for summer and I really didn't notice the difference. So better off having the better handling and feel from the thinner gloves.
Other than that, they are well made, the fit is very good. I'm a medium and they were spot on. The wiper is good. They are pretty stiff until you break them in, so make sure you wear them round the house a bit before going out on your first ride.

Average at best.

Maybe I expected too much from a non heated glove, but these aren't any better than another brand pair I have that were half the price. Tested at 3C and my hands lasted 30 mins before I had numb fingers. They weren't much better up to 8C either. On the plus side they did keep my hands dry during an hour's downpour. Sizing wise they were fine across the palm but the fingers are a tad long compared to other gloves I have.

Great Gloves
04 January 2023 by Anonymous
Great pair of gloves, wore them in 5c temperatures and didn't need the heated grips. Well insulated, but still allows you to feel the bike as well. Quality stitching, well made and looking forward to covering many more miles with them.

I found these gloves to be comfortable and waterproof. They feel as though they will do the job for quite a while. It may be me but I thought they could be warmer hence the 4 stars.

Great upgrade
23 October 2022 by Selwyn P
My old Richa Artic gloves having served four years of daily winter riding are showing their age. I got the these Richa Artic GTX as the replacement and am not disappointed. Richa have improved an already brilliant glove, the Artic GTX fit well and they are very warm. I have no doubt they will serve me for at least another four years of winter riding.
