HJC R-PHA 71 - Pinna Red Not had an HJC helmet previously, however, this really is a super bit of kit. Very comfortable and really well made.
HJC F70 - Pearl White Got this on a 40% discount from Sportsbikeshop. Lovely comfy and well made helmet. Internal visor is great and the included pinlock screen is brilliant.
Again, super fast pain free delivery and service. No concerns about the fit as I knew it'd be easy to return and exchange.
HJC F71 - Bard Green I bought this helmet after first ordering an AGV K1S in medium, which when it arrived was far too small, despite me having an AGV Sport Modular Helmet in M which fits great. The AGV also felt brittle and plasticky.
I bought the HJC F71 after viewing one in a local bike shop, didn't really know anything about the brand.
It's lovely, feels close in quality to my Arai Quantic and it's lighter, paint quality and vents all lovely quality.
Fitted my Cardo Intercom (which I didn't want to fit on the Arai) by removing the left hand trim piece and sticking straight on, fits great.
Lovely helmet.
HJC i91 - Pearl White Good value item, fits well sizing very accurate
HJC RPHA 91 - Metallic Blue This is a very well built helmet. Having tried on every flip lid I could find, the shape of my head meant it became a choice between the RPHA and Neotech3. The HJC importer Oxford Products was offering a large discount on the Metallic Blue helmet and that £300 saving for helmet and mesh intercom combined became the deciding factor. I didn’t have any doubts about my choice until some riding experience (once ridden, that removes the option to take the product back) when I discovered that the RPHA generates an uncomfortable amount of wind noise particularly with the visor open. Annoying.
HJC RPHA 60 - Dakar Yellow I have a very large, long-oval head shape and have traditionally only bought Shoei helmets as I know size their 63 fits me well. However, wanting a more adventure style lid to replace my Shoei GT2 Air (which is 5 yrs old), I needed to look elsewhere. I tried helmets from Airoh, Nexx, Scorpion, Shark, etc. but this one was the best fit. It's relatively light (similar to the GT Air) but seems a bit quieter on wind noise. The peak seems to generate a bit of noise around 70mph, though, but perhaps that just needs tightening. Build quality seems great, but it's early days in terms of fitment - the first time I wore it I got a headache after an hour, but the second time seemed better, so I'm hoping it's "moulding" to my head. SBS were their usual brilliant self in bringing helmets into their Birmingham store for me to try on.
