Dexter Helmets

Could not believe the value of this helmet by Dexter. I've have a road version and this was my first adventure lid. But as before the quality is good, pinlock included. Unbelievable value. Nice fit and look. Glasses compatible. Usual quick delivery by Sportsbikeshop. Highly recommend

The helmet is really comfortable and it hugs my face so it is a perfect fit and I am a size M. The quality of the helmet is amazing for its cheap price. Overall the helmet is amazing, sporty and looks really cool.

For the money paid for this helmet, £75, it is very good value for money, but it is not the perfection some would have you believe.
Obviously at this price the quality of materials has to be lowered compared to more expensive helmets and there are some design issues.
The pinlock supplied will fit the visor but only covers approx two thirds of the height, the correct one is now discontinued by pinlock.
The peak doesn't work as a peak, it just sits on top of the helmet, it will protect the visor when it is open, but not long or wide enough to block out a low sun or flying mud. This seems to be a common problem with this type of helmet.
Lastly for some odd reason the helmet directs a lot of engine noise into my ears.
Now the good bits.
It only cost £75, the ventilation is good, I can leave the visor closed when stopped without feeling like I am suffocating, the visor operates easily and without fuss, no fiddly catches to fiddle with, just lift it to open and pull down to close, the helmet doesn't feel too bulky on my head and for me, fits comfortably.

I ride a 110mile round trip commute, 15 mile fast A roads, 30 mile motorway, 10 mile city centre ish.

Needed a flip up helmet as I wear specs and fuelling up with steamed up specs is a massive pain so this is my first venture into flip up lids (normally wear a nolan n87)

Free pinlock is a hug bonus. Easy to fit and works a treat.

Vision is brilliant, Nice big opening and the visor locks into position firmly.

Visor scratches really easily and this is the main reason the helmet doesn't get 5 stars. First ride in freezing salty/gritted wet roads and the visor is looking worn and tired already.

Comfort is good, I'm a size XL.

I won't comment on wind noise as it's too subjective.

Venting is excellent.

strap/buckle are perfect.

chin wind stopper thing is absolutely brilliant...not the usual mesh type thing.

Flip up and down operation, really easy...brilliant.

Logo on the pinloc...properly annoying, it's in your field of vision as you glance at the right mirror....absolutely pointless logo.

overall. glad I bought it and I'll use it right through to summer

Would I recommend it? Yes, if you need a cheap lid and can live with a scratched visor.

Service from SportsbikeShop was it's usual amazing....not worth buying bike gear from anywhere else .
