Rukka motorcycle clothing is renowned throughout the world for being the most technically advanced range on the market, designed to meet the strictest standards for both safety, and rider comfort. Founded in 1950, Rukka have been producing bike clothing since the late 80's with the entire Rukka motorbike range designed in house, as it has been since day one, at their base in Finland. The entire range is today manufactured according to their own Defence and Comfort performance standards, meeting even the strictest criteria set for weatherproofing and riding comfort. Most Rukka motorcycle jackets and trousers carry the patented Rukka Air protectors, the only patented breathable shoulder, elbow, knee, shin and hip protectors on the market, functioning equally in all weather conditions. This elastic mesh divides the possible impact into a wide area and acts as a shock absorber. When it comes to reflective materials, Rukka clothing is once again at the forefront of technology. Under normal daylight conditions, Rukka's reflective material appears normal but if directly lit by vehicle headlights in the dark, it reflects the light glaring white. The list of technical elements is almost endless with the use of top brand materials such as Gore-Tex, Armacor, Cordura, SuperFabric and D30 to name only a few. Regardless of climate, hot or cold, rainy or sunny - Rukka clothing is designed to perform, ensuring both rider comfort and safety. Furthermore, all Rukka outerwear is covered by a 5 year warranty (2 years on gloves).

I bought these in a sale and I'm absolutely delighted. It's serious quality kit in all respects and faultless to date. The build quality is in a different league to anything I've owned before. One small word of caution - do try before you buy or be prepared to do some exchanging (which SBS are brilliant at). Whilst the waist sizing chart is accurate, be aware the general cut of the hips / thighs is surprisingly slim i.e. you may need to go bigger in the waist to get a comfy fit in the hips/thighs. I went with an XL to accommodate my 34"/36" waist and think the hips/thighs are definitely snug despite my less than muscular frame!

Rukka Lahti Jacket - Black Rukka Lahti Jacket - Black
Looked at all of the Rukka mid-layers but decided to go with the Lahti due to the fact the insulation is for the body only which leaves the arms with a light-weight but really comfy layer. This design works brilliantly and so much so, I’ve been wearing it with my Gore-Tex walking jacket. Very warm in the body when you need it but can unzip when a bit warmer. IMHO a perfect mid-layer as no restriction in the arms. Feel like buying another one…. But won’t!

I bought this back protector to go with a new Rukka jacket...the fit is excellent and it gives a great feeling of security. I would not ride without some form of back protection in place.

Rukka Aldrich Mid Layer Jacket - Black Rukka Aldrich Mid Layer Jacket - Black
I've removed the lining from my (non Rukka) jacket and wear this as a mid layer instead.
It's far warmer than the original lining and can also be worn as a stand alone jacket.
