Comfortable from the start

Adds a bit of height, something a Gym workout can't do. Easier to maneuver my bike with these boots on, no problems changing gears.
I got these as a shortie...like pretty much everyone else who has reviewed the boots. I ordered the 37 and the 37.5 to try at home and spent a whole afternoon trying them and walking around indoors. I normally take a 37/size 4 shoe and in fact the 37 was the right length and the right width for toes etc even with boot socks on. I have one foot that is noticeably larger than the other..my left foot is the big one. I also noted as many others have that the zips are stiff but would expect them to loosen with wear. Having plumped for the 37 back in January this year I then boxed them and waited for the 3 month tour down to Morocco, Portgual and Spain in the spring. After 3 weeks of wearing the boots I noticed an increasingly sore pressure point on the top of my right (small) foot at the highest point. After 4 weeks, the right foot was tingling and numb on one side. Not great...nothing to be done in the depths of Morocco but not zip the right boot zips up, just rely on the velcro to keep the boot in shape. Having got back to UK after 12 weeks, I sent the boots back to sportsbikeshop who liaised with Daytona. The response was its a fitting issue, tough luck. I beg to differ, the boot on my biggest (left) foot is just fine, I believe the right boot was made smaller in volume. My reason for sharing all the detail of this sorry tale is to be very very careful that you really have enough depth in the boot as you won't feel it until you have used them for extended journeys ...and the leather doesn't soften much. After 12 weeks and 8,000 miles they are still pretty much the same 'flex' as when I bought them. I fear these are for eBay which is a huge shame as other than this issue they would have been great.
I got these as I'm a shortie and needed a bit of extra height to get my toes down on the floor. they do the job nicely, quality boots which I can see these will last for many years to come.
Perfect fit. I'm normally a size 6 and the size 6 boots fit perfectly and comfortably.
The zips were a bit stiff at first to get up but soon loosened up. First bike ride was a bit weird as they do alter the way you move your foot to get under the gear lever but adapated quickly and don't even think about it now.
I would recommend these. If you are a male buying the ladies boots then don't worry about it. Nobody else will know!
I wanted the extra height in the soles glad I have purchased these very comfy boots the gear change does feel different but didn't take long to adjust to that, great quality boots with good support,
A great boot for providing essential height for shorter riders, gave me a clear inch in height over my Alpine Stars. Unfortunately raising the heal has made upshifts quite difficult as I am struggling to articulate my ankle sufficiently to get my toe under the gear change, Hopefully this will improve with practice. Also a very expensive boot.
Being of shorter stature I had been advised to try and get a pair of these boots, due to the added sole and heel height. As others have said, it takes a while to adjust to the added height, and also the fact that you may not be able to feel the gear shifter on down shifting, but it's just a case of muscle memory. The added height makes me feel more 'tucked up' on the pegs on my already upright (but lowered) MT-07. I've now worn them several times including in very wet weather, and come away with dry, warm feet. I would recommend trying both your usual size and the next size up, as the zip around the ankle is extremely tight, although it gives with time - I had to go up from a UK5, to a UK6, but I do have wide feet. The manufacturer's warranty, where they will replace soles and worn gear shifters also appealed to me on these boots. All in all a 'one time purchase' that I hope will last me for many years to come.
Bit of a gamble trying these but really pleased, fit well and are instantly very comfortable, externally you would never know they give you extra leg reach, it is now feet flat on the floor on my Z650. Feet on the bike feel different changing gear etc for about 5 minutes compared to thin soled boots but then nothing to even think about.
Really comfy, good arch support and feel like they would protect my ankle and shins in an impact. Took a whole to adjust to the thicker sole when changing gear but it's fine now. Fully waterproof as tested in Scotland last weekend in heavy rain. Being able to flat foot properly gave a increased ense of stability. Would reccomend.
Very comfortable and really well made - just what you expect from Daytona boots. They do feel strange and I've not had a chance to wear them whilst riding my bike yet but hope they'll not affect my gear changing. Chose them because I fancy replacing my bike with one that's taller. They gave me the few centimetres extra that I needed when I tried out the bike after I bought them.
I have been considering these boots for a while. Really pleased with the fit and feel. I wondered if a raised footbed would feel awkward, it doesn't. Well worth the investment.
Purchased a size 38 as I'm generally a 5 but these felt like wellies so changed to the 37. Felt a bit too snug but gave really quick. I only wear thin socks. The extra height in the sole is a very different and is taking some getting used to on the bike as it raises your knee position. I usually ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs but as they are quite ridged I can't do that. The gear change is a little harder to allocate and feel as you need to tip your foot down more to get under it. Quality & safety wise there's no doubt they are really sturdy with plenty of protection. They offer adjustment for calf variations by having an a Velcro flap at the back which helps as my leather trousers take up some room. Overall, they are pricy but they are of top quality. Can't fault SPORTSBIKESHOP on their service yet again. I've bought and exchanged a few different boots with them before finally getting the right size & Make.
I recently bought a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Low, as a 5'2 female even the low model was right on my limits. So after much research for boots to give me a little extra I plumped for the Daytona Lady Star. Thank God I did, yes they are expensive but the quality is undeniable. For a large bulky boot and I'm only a size 4, they are very comfortable, having them on when riding has given me so much more confidence, I can get so much more of my foot down now without having to angle the bike quite so much. I'm still not totally flat but the boots with the extra height means I can now manoeuvre the bike much better while straddling it. I've not ridden in extreme weather yet but no wind what so ever penetrates them so my feet are always toasty at the end of my ride. I will look after these boots as I won't ride my tiger without them now, at the top end money wise I plan to have these for years to come, definitely an investment I would recommend as you get what you pay for.
Ok, I'm short. Wanted to get biking again, get over that fear of dropping the bike. Had bikes lowered, seats shaved. No more! Read about these boots. Put them on and the confidence I had on approaching my new bike was palpable. Beautiful boots and worth the price. Give 6cm lift to the heel! They really do work. No idea why the smaller sizes are 'Lady', they're just smaller and thankfully not branded!
Best Boots Ever! I can now reach the ground on my bike flat footed, something I've never been able to do before. The extra height within the boot is brilliant with no ill-effect on my changing gear. The boots are so comfortable and easy to put on even with my wider calves. I would never buy anything else now that I have tried these boots. My only regret is that I wasn't aware of them before.
German engineering at its best! Very comfortable from the beginning. No "breaking in" required. Worth the cost, my previous pair (different make) split after a relatively short period of use - I don't see this happening with the Daytona's. Purchased next size up because my feet are between sizes, no issues, good with thick or thin socks. Overall - excellent!
Delighted with these boots. Took some courage to click the buy key but worth every pound. After having a bike fall on me, resulting in a broken toe in inadequate biker boots I feel confident in Daytonas superior quality. The construction of the sole sneakily adds height which I need at 5'2 inch. My former boots were more a fashion item with a high heal and thin sole. Trust in these and Sportsbikeshop expertise !
At only 4'11 I am struggling with the height of most bikes. These boots really do help. They are very well made and feel very strong. I have large calves as I stand all day and these boots are very adjustable so you can get a great fit and change it around for jeans, socks etc.. Not used in the wet so no idea how well they will perform but I am very confident they will be fine.
