HJC RPHA 91 - Titanium SF

Had this couple week now I ordered quiet few helmets in stock to try this was by far most comfortable and surprised cheapest aswell it has great feel to it and very light all vents are easy to work with gloves on main vent let's alot fresh air in best ever had really big help when hot visor is easiest I've had to remove and replace I'm normally in a large that felt best had take it back swap it for medium haveing always had arai lids in past this lid is fantastic value for money 100 percent rate it

I am very pleased with this new helmet. The ventilation is much better than my previous RPHA90; my specs don't steam up in cold or wet weather. The HJC intercom is easy to fit and integrates well. It did feel heavy for the first ten minutes until I got used to it. The visor latch is on the chin bar rather than the visor, which I hope will make it less prone to cracking in that area.

Haven't worn it for more than an hour ride but seems pretty comfortable. Flip front lock is a bit fiddley but will probably get better with more use. Visor and Pinlock work fine. Looks goods in my opinion. Got it on discount making it good value.

I bought this helmet to replace my noisy Arai Quantic. The fit is great, the helmet is quieter, not silent.
But a 20 percent noise reduction compared with the Arai. The vents work so much better than the Arai too,

Great feature is the flip up front, ease to take a drink, service stations and I guess Passport control when it happens. To me this was a better fit than the Carbon Schuberth C5 which was on the list. But settled with the HJC, this is my first HJC Helmet, as always bought Arai before. 5 year warranty too, amazing.

I have changed to this from a Arai and I must say the fit and finish our great, much quieter and all the actions are smooth, would highly recommand

This is a really high quality helmet and ticks a lot of boxes for me. The chin bar action is really positive but smooth and it take little effort to lock. The same can be said for the visor mechanism which locks really well. In fact I would say that the seal on this helmet is the best I have experienced and coupling this with the very effective and controllable ventilation it makes for a very nice experience. The pinlock works 100% without the need to crack a vent/visor. The most noticeable aspect when going for the first ride is how quiet it is - its remarkable. I have been able to easily listen to music/podcasts with the volume at only 60%. The speaker pockets are very discrete too. It claims to be heavy but this is not noticeable. With the chin bar up it feels very well balanced. All in all I think its hard to beat.

This is my first HJC having previously worn the Schuberth C3 and currently also owning a Shoei Neotec 2.
So, Neotec 2 of the R-PHA..they both have their pros and cons but this is a very good helmet worthy of being talked about with the likes of Shoei.
Notably better airflow than the Neotec 2. In the open face position the R-PHA definitely experiences less drag when riding, and makes the helmet feel lighter than it is in the open position.
I have this and the Neotec 2 in XL, and this feels lighter (both fitted with coms).
Is it quieter than the Neotec? Very hard to tell, but the wind noise does seem to have a lower tone/sound bassier which helps a little bit. I wonder if this is thanks to the carbon fibre?
The clear visor adds a slight yellow tinge, but it's not offensively bad. I also note that the drop down sun visor isn't optically at the same level, so you do see some minor refracting, but this is only really noticeable if you're trying to read a number plate. When it comes to roadsigns and motorway gantries you don't notice it.
The padding feels better than the Neotec 2, and hugs my noggin more securely, but it's still plenty soft.
Super smooth and easy opening and closing of the chin bar..no need to slam it shut at all.

I bought a Shark Evo ES and couldn't take to it so decided to sell it and upgrade to the HJC R-PHA91.

The quality is excellent with a premium feeling comfortable lining. I also bought the HJC 21B comms which were very easy wfit and provide a high quality sound. It synchronises easily with my Triumph Tiger TFT.

The helmet is fairly quiet at all speeds and ventilation is unlike anything I have had before. Naturally it only works with visor down and you can feel the air circulate through.

It's not the lightest helmet by weight, but the balance, including with front flipped up, means it feels lighter and comfortable.

I recommend watching the SBS video which gave a really insightful review which helped inform my decision.

The sizing is very slightly bigger but not uncomfortable.

I feel this stands up to the Shoei's and Arai's I also looked at. I'd recommend giving this consideration or trying one on if you're in the market for a new lid.

I had to wait a month for delivery but I was happy to do so for the price that I paid. The helmet is well finished and it is a premium helmet from a mainstream manufacturer. The optics are great with wide visibility of both visors. The flip is easy to operate. The main visor has a very simple release operation and is just as easy to get back on. No issues yet with the pin lock. The venting is superb. You can tell which vents are open and they are not for show. The main vent is especially good with a significant airflow. I am still bedding the helmet in. I have a round head and it is tight on my forehead. However this has happened before and I would rather take my time bedding it in than have a loose helmet.

I have had the top selling high branded helmets but none have fitted as good as the HJC! No optional extra cheek pads needed for even more monet!
I have always gone for big brand names rather than what is best for comfort!
This HJC was instantly comfortable as soon as I put it on. A great sun visor field of vision is also excellent.
I would highly recommend you give HJC a try.

Nice replacement for my rpha 70

Purchased this on my 50th Birthday. It felt comfortable in the shop, I liked the sun visor and flip-top function. However, after around a week, the pressure on the middle of my forehead started giving me headaches, and I couldn't wear it for more than 20 minutes. Unfortunately, by this time, SBS were unable to take it back, so I sold it on ebay, taking a massive loss. Feel very let down by the whole experience.

Of course it is 5 stars, the cheapest price I could find in UK. it was said that the helmet is available in required size, however, email later said it will be in stock in 3 weeks which was upsetting. Saying that, the helmet turned up 3 days later, great. Helmet itself, as expected - good and what I needed. Thanks SBS!

After reading many reviews on different helmets I decided to go for the R-PHA 91. More due to the discount SBS were offering and the offer of reduced wind noise. Helmet is comfy although finding it does push a bit tight on my glasses legs but once out on bike seems fine.
Top vent is excellent, other 3 dont let in much air especially the mouth one. Noise reduction isn't noticeable compared to my last scorpion exo -tech although I'm sure some boffin will say otherwise. Flip up mechanism works well, Visor makes a solid click when shut which I like. Sun visor does drop a little and needs pushed up every so often but when down and in use absolutely fine.
The HJC logo was peeling off so I just removed it. Looks better!
All in all really happy with the helmet plus it does have a slight pearlescent sparkle to it which makes it look a lot better.
