Complicated, well-equipped but try it first!
12 January 2025 by Jon C
I wanted to be waterproof and I wanted a matching set for the first time in my life so I got this and the trousers.

According to the SBS size guide, I should have been in a 4XL. Not a hope!! The zips couldn't even see each other!!

RIcha themselves say the 4XL is a 50 - 52". No it isn't!! I'm a 50" chest and courtesy of the care and attention of SBS Boston, I'm now in a 6XL and that's snug!

The problem with that is the sleeves are unbelievably long - maybe 3" longer than I'd like them - but I've got it now, I've worn it so it stays.

That means a faff with my gloves and as a Blood Biker, that's several times a day!! I've 'refined' the process a little by now but it's still not ideal.

Again, RIcha's own guide says 48 - 50" waist. Undo all the adjusters, breathe in and it's only just! It's a really 'unusual' shape, especially when my old Montreal 2 (4XL) fits like it was made for me. Weird!!

Complicated? Yes - it's got tons of features which are set out on the SBS listing so I won't bother to repeat them here but there are some I stlll haven't worked out yet.

I've never needed the linings in any of my jackets but I literally almost froze my t...ts off when I went out in this without!

I don't know if it's the chest armour pockets but even on my FJR with it's mahoosive screen, the wind came through like I was wearing a string vest!!

I put the linings in for the next trip and that solved the problem but you then have three zips to do up before you ride...!!

The other thing which emerged - and this too might be a by-product of the (super) size is that the collar really stands away from my (19") neck - far more than a normal neck tube could fix - hence my other purchase of the Oxford Advanced Storm Collar.

Sorted!!

It's good though - I think - bot only time will tell. As with the trousers, I didn't get wet and with the linings in place, didn't get cold. It's got pockets galore - you can leave half your luggage at home wearing this - and vents aplently which will no doubt be a bonus in summer.

It's also got two attachment zips though how you'd get in and out of your gear if you used the long one (it goes RIGHT round!) I've no idea.

TBH, I haven't used either because another feature I haven't mentioned (and again, it might be down to the size) the back length is fantastic!!

As I've said elsewhere, I'm 6'1" with a 31" inside leg so all my height is in my back but I can practically sit on this jacket!! No draughts, no leaks and no unwanted movement.

It's not perfect - and maybe if I'd paid £700 plus I'd have more to moan about - but it seems good so have a look and just take your time over choosing!!

Good jacket weird sizing
10 December 2024 by Barry W
Great all rounder , keeps the wind at bay , have yet to test the rain resistance. My only complaint is that it's not the warmest and could of done with a thermal liner, the armour is nice and subtle making moving easy, sizing is very weird , I'm a stocky guy with 46" chest and I'm normally a L/XL in coats but had to go to a 4xl in this but definitely a quality jacket as expected from Richa

Amazing jacket
29 November 2024 by Farid A
Really good build quality, kept me warm on a 2 hour wet cold and windy ride over the moors, the fit is brilliant and the pads stay in place..as a tall person at 6,3 getting jackets that are long enough is hard and this is perfect. Also regarding back protection I upgraded the back protection but installed the one it came with into the large pocket at the lower back giving me full top to bottom spine protection.

Exactly what I needed, when I needed it.
01 August 2023 by Glynn P
This jacket is everything I needed, as my other one leaked like a seive. On the way home from a motorbike holiday in France.

For the rest of my journey home, this jacket did exactly what a bike jacket should do: and kept me dry and warm. The reinforced flexible padding is much more user friendly and comfortable than the solid type armour, which I loathed with a passion.

Looks pretty snazzy, and reasonably priced, too.

Love it. :)
