The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...
On first use , rode for a hour in heavy rain. Water leaked in the front of boot. Maybe a poor design at the front. But the lining didn’t keep the rain off my feet either.
They ate really hot on hot days too.
The buckle fastenings aren’t the slickest either. Bottom ones can come loose.
To be honest, not what I expected from RST.
The Boots offer excellent comfort, protection, and build quality. They broke in quickly and provide solid ankle support with enough flex for walking. Reinforced toe, heel, and shin areas enhance safety, while the thick sole ensures grip even in wet conditions. The boots feel durable and well-constructed, with strong Velcro. Stylishly designed, they suit both daily rides and longer trips. The only downside is limited ventilation on hotter days. Overall, they’re a great value for mid-range riders seeking reliable, protective footwear. Highly recommended.
Great quality and well made boot with a high waterproof liner. Ideal for our lovely unpredictable Scottish weather. Delighted with the boot and looking forward to many trips in 2025 testing the performance which I'm pretty sure will stand up to the wear and tear of touring and walking about on and off road.
I have had these boots for a few weeks now. I commute daily all year round so decent boots that keep my feet dry are important.
So far these have been superb. Fit for me was spot on. Pretty comfortable out of the box. Uppers took a tiny bit to soften up but not much. Plenty of feel from the gear change and rear brake pedals. Look pretty decent and were also warm in the sub-zero rides I did. The last fe days have been wet as all hell and my feet have been 100% dry and warm. Closure is easy enough and was concerned that the bucles would be flimsy as a few reviews said they were. No problems for me and there is loads of adjustment to get a comfortable fit.
I have been a bit of a brand snob in the past and have overlooked RST kit as it at the "budget" end. However after having to buy a new jacket quickly and cheaply and now these boots, I am blown away with the bang for buck you get with the brand. I will be upgrading all my kit to RST as required now.
Great pair of boots. Comfortable, really warm in very low temperatures and the thicker sole makes putting my feet flat on the floor on my tiger 900 much easier. Im usually a size 6 but bought a size 7 and they are comfy with both thick and thin socks as they are a wider fit than a lot of boots but have soft internal padding. The instep is supported really well as well as the foot and ankle. . They stand up really well to the weather and after riding in the rain a few times agree that they are definitely water proof.
I would highly recommend especially for winter or adventure riding
Purchased these after disappointingly, my 18 month old full length RST boots broke when the zip came away.
Have used RST for years, always choose a size bigger than I am, took a week to break in but comfortable overall. Ridden in light rain so far, can't say the waterproofing has been tested yet, give great ankle support and look good / comfortable to walk in. Would have given 5* but the ratchet fastners can pop out when putting on and fiddly to put back in. Solid when locked in place though, would buy them again.
I have owned three pairs of buckled boots prior to these but have been relatively pleased with the purchases until now.
1. Buckles: The buckles have been persistently annoying; they never stay where I leave them notched, unlike my previous pairs of boots. This is compounded by issue two below. They need constantly adjusting and have a tendency to fall off the boot unless care is taken not to shake the boot when I take it off - I foresee loosing one or more of them eventually.
2. The two pieces of leather on (bridge and lower shin of foot) the left and right that are meant to overlap one another and pull together with the tightening of the buckles fall short of overlapping properly - this prevents the effective clipping of the buckles
3. Leather on the left and right side of the lower ankle areas crease up into a nodule, which is irritating and nota cable when I walk.
4. Unfortunately the negatives far outweigh what I like about the boots, so while I am sure that there may be people with a different kind of foot or shin that are satisfied with them, I won't be buying these ever again - very disappointed.
Really good boots overall, would buy again - very comfortable off the bike, I could walk around all day in these. Genuinely waterproof. Only downside is the top buckle can make putting the boot on difficult. Worth removing the strap from the buckle to put on.
Well made with plenty of protection and support. Deep sole helps with getting feet flat! Only niggle is that straps could become detached when not wearing. Had to go up a couple of sizes from my usual size 9!
Not used in the wet yet. These fit nice and have a good amount of lift in the sole height. Straps are solid and have two positions so no need to keep adjusting. Hope they last more than one rainstorm like my last pair from Richa that were a day old! And these replaced. SBS service always spot on.
The ratchet straps can be a bit fiddly. I did order a size up from usual shoe size (11 instead of 10) and they are still a tight fit with m/c socks on, but they probably have still got to give some more, and certainly not as bad as my previous m/c boots (not RST)
these are a very good pair of boots, extremely comfortable and waterproof. Went up one size than shoe size, allowing for boot socks.
The only down side is the adjustable strap which can come away when taking boots off.
That said, I wouldn't change them as they are a really good pair of boots
Excellent comfortable boots.
I especially like the slight rise in the toe, as I ride on the toes not dragging my feet like a duck. This slight rise make it a comfortable position. Even on Adventure bikes.
Also help walking normally, not like you are in a pair of ski boots spilling your drink everywhere.
The ratchet straps can fall out easily when you throw them in the cupboard, only a slight annoying factor. But should you lose one then you would be screwed. But for the price. They are a solid supportive boot.
