RST Pro Series Ventilator XT CE Textile Jacket - Black

This jacket is quite a revelation. I was originally looking to by and ADV style jacket for my 'adventures' but soon discovered how bulky, and in some cases, quite heavy these jackets could be. The RST Pro Series Ventilator XT was the complete opposite - it's a good weight, very well ventilated in the arms, chest and back and for the cooler days, comes complete with a waterproof and thermal liner. On top of that, the jacket comes with full AA rated armour, including back armour. This is a very well made, comfortable, protective jacket and represents incredible value for money too. I know there may be some ADV riders out there that will complain about the lack of pockets, but in reality and on a day to day basis, you may only use one or two pockets for your phone, wallet or keys and that's it. And when out travelling on your adventures, most riders I know have tank bags to keep all their bits and pieces plus travel documents so for me the lack of multiple pockets is not a practical issue. I think it's the design and style of adventure jackets being promoted makes you feel that you must have six big pockets on the front, one big one on your back and another six inside - but for what? With the liner, this jacket is good for 3 seasons plus a mild winter. If its hot, just the jacket, cool or cold add the liner. If its cold wet and windy, I wear waterproof over jacket and trousers and that cuts out all the wind, cold and wet. Perfect.

Just got back from a 2000 mile trip through the mountains of France. The jacket was excellent. Took the liner out for most of the trip but got caught out by the weather on the last day. I was drenched but when the sun came out, that and the wind dried the jacket fairly quickly.
With the liner in it will keep you dry. Riding back from Portsmouth at 6.30am the jacket kept out the English wind and the cold. Highly recommend this jacket

Really please with this Jacket. Having used this in France this Summer, it was perfect for keeping me cool. The fit was great too, although I did order a size up from where I normally do (but maybe I have gone up a size hahaha).
The only thing missing would be a water proof pocket, in case you get caught out.
Superb quality as always with RST. I bought the matching trousers too.

I bought this jacket in January and used it a couple of times with the liner in, in the early Spring.
It worked well and kept me warm.
I went to the North West 200 in late May when we had a a few hot days (remember those?) and took the liner out. The jacket was brilliant and super comfortable.
A week or so later, the zip failed for some reason, so I returned to SBS. They asked me if I wanted a refund or another jacket. I went for replacement straight away as I think its a brilliant product for the money and hopefully the zip was just a one off fault.

This is fantastic value for the money, I bought as a summer jacket but looks like would be good all year with the inner liner. My first ride with the wind cooling me brilliant definitely recommend. Great service and I went to Leeds store since I bought this. Great customer service and helpful staff

With the liner out it flows lots of air.
The liner, which is a combined thermal and waterproof, is too warm thus only 4 stars. A water and windproof layer without the thermal would provide more flexibility.

Appears reasonable quality with good L2 armour. Its definitely cool in hot weather. Liner useful.

Fits nicely, goes well with the matching trousers and zips together for extra security. Cuffs are a little bulky to fit under winter gloves, but not enough to stop me using it. Looking forward to warmer weather and trying it without the thermal liner!

Really comfortable jacket. Having the removable liner means it will be suitable on our more varied days in the UK. Comfortable and seems pretty much true to size.

The weather was to warm for my winter jacket at approx 10° on a sunny day. This jacket kept me cool and not cold. It has RSTs robust quality feel to it. 44"chest and a large was perfect fit.

This is the second of these jackets that I've bought. Comfortable, excellent shoulder, elbow and back protection, warm in spring/autumn, cool in summer. A great all round jacket with good visibility on the road.

Nice jacket, haven't used it on the bike yet as it's been purchased for summer riding. The armour looks good quality and is CE Level 2 throughout, and is type B on the shoulders and elbows (the biggest).

I did find though when trying these on that the same Ventilator jackets, in different sizes or colours, for whatever reason, had different armour. fitted.

Overall an excellent design and feels like a good quality product..

What a great jacket and excellent value for money.
My normal size is L but I would suggest going up a size. Quality of this jacket is good and unusually for a mesh jacket it comes with a combined fleece and waterproof liner making it a 3 season jacket.
Well worth the money and highly recommended

My another jacket from RST and it didn't disappoint. This one is aimed for warmer weather but the insulated insert is surprisingly good at keeping you warm. So even on colder mornings it does the job. It's also lighter than the rest of RST lineup which is a big plus in my books.

Bought for summer riding and therefore can't speak to its ventilation yet, but have no doubt it'll live up to its billing. Its Winter now and, for milder days, the lining does a nice job and the overall craftsmanship is outstanding. My first RST jacket after owning 4 pairs of their gloves. Love the brand and am surprised at the value proposition RST continually offer. They could charge far more and I'd gladly pay. I'm a believer and trust their workmanship.
