Good kit but overpriced.

5 year thoughts (this model is superseded now with an update):
Ok ‘bum’ comfort until it gets hot and you are on a multi day tour! KLIM replaced mine as the reflective material peeled off after first wash - twice! They are baggy and bulky - think about noise at speed. Functionally still fine 30k miles later. As a package they are so big I often opt for other trousers. Venting is really good - they are massive. Despite the bulk and the weight only AA rated, suspect there are more streamlined options at AAA for a more competitive price. For me they are overpriced and the U.K. market has caught up (depending on why you want this sought of trouser). I ripped mine in a low ish speed fall, not too badly and I will get them repaired but had I been away abroad I would have been disappointed with a rip after a slow speed spill. Positive my jeans/leathers/other trousers would not have ripped.
Now tested properly in cold and wet on long runs and with layers on they are excellent. Size is exactly per their charts so check them in store as very different to eu size. U might want braces for them as the waist straps do tighten them but found they would sit slightly low. It trying them in shop they will be stiff but only takes a few rides to break them in
Bought the Klim badlands pro jacket and trousers about 18 months ago love them . I wear them on Road and green laning very versatile. Ventilation zip failed repaired under warranty no quibble . Great service many thanks
Expensive. No braces to go with them. The connection zip to the jacket is too short. That's the bad points out of the way. I've worn these in 15c so far with the vents open and they kept me cool and comfortable. I've worn them in a storm on the motorway and they kept me dry as a bone. They feel robust and the fit is good too. I was wary of klim pants being baggy and while these are far from a close fit they do fit well over boots and the length for me is perfect. The waist has adjustability and an option for braces. Internally there is no thermal liner which I wasn't looking for, I wore a thin baselayer under these when it was cooler and it was a nice fit and comfortable. I think without they might be a bit "scratchy" but they'll keep me cool and dry when needed overall a good pant.
Don't get me wrong, these are excellent, but for this money I would expect amazing, perfection even and so being very critical. A full zip to the jacket rather than back zip would be better. With all the armour and layered material they are quite heavy. If I was walking about in them then I would invest in some big braces. I somehow expected a higher waist rather than sitting on the hips. I particularly like the foot flap and snaps to fit well around my boots. Lots of size options means you can get a great fit, but means a bit of guessing needed when ordering.
These trousers are very comfortable, not to stiff, was told as they are American would probably need a size smaller than usual, tried a medium but was way too tight so ended up with large which are 34" waist and in regular length… perfect. I choose monument grey as I wanted something a bit lighter since bike is a gsa triple black. Whether I've made right colour choice remains to be seen as may well show the dirt more.
Bought from SBS as they were the cheapest in the UK by $200.00 so a no-brainer. My first pair of these (bought in 2013) were refunded by Gore as part of a warranty claim. Onto these, I bought the same size as I had done previously, but they're about half a size too big. Discussing with another Klim dealer, it turns out they've changed the sizing to make them 'more adventurey' i.e. a bit baggier to give you more room on the bike. This didn't suit my riding, so SBS exchanged them for a smaller pair which fit perfectly, and in the same way that my originals fitted. Worth knowing when you choose your sizing. I'd say the sizing is very accurate with the regular length suiting my 31" inside leg. Quality wise, they're amazing, and although not tested yet, I have no doubt they'll keep me as dry as Klim Gore-Tex has always done in all weathers. They really are outstanding. Amazing service from SBS Birmingham allowing me to compare both sets before making a choice. SBS remain my go-to shop for buying bike kit as they're consistently better than all their competitors.
The first ride was a 400+ mile journey from the Ardennes to Worcestershire. The weather was unkind with gales and very heavy showers near Calais. But I remained dry and comfy. The ability to zip into my Klim jacket was useful.
I bought these to go with an S4 Baja jacket and plan to add a Badlands Pro gore jacket for the winter later this year. They are very comfortable and cool to wear so far, even without the vents open, the vents are large so should be fine, waist sizes are the correct fit, I needed short though as regular seems to be very long which makes the trousers very baggy. So far no leaks although not worn them all day in heavy rain. Very well put together with strong seams and good quality zips. The real test is what are they like 3 years on, but that's for later. The online reviews seem to accentuate the overall value, also means you are not bike badged but more biker badged, so swapping bikes will still work.
Top quality - as you would expect. Yet to test in the rain - but the fit is good, Time will tell if they are good enough to persuade me to buy the matching jacket. Service from SBS is excellent.
Excellent quality and construction as you might expect for the price plus a 5 year warranted from Kilm who stand by their gear. I needed to try on lots of different sizes to get the right fit so make sure you take your time and try on different styles and sizes to get the right fit
Very happy with purchase top quality product at a cheaper price than most shops I visited jeans came up bigger than expected the team at sportsbikeshop were happy to help and arranged for right size to be at local store next day great service and great quality product
The build quality and materials used are both amazing. There could be some easy improvements. The leg adjustment should never have changed and the original 2 strap system would be much better for keeping armour in place, also the pockets for the armour are not the best as there is so much lining they move around.
The waist sizes are way out or labelled.wrong. I usually wear a 30, so went by other reviews and stepped up a size, they felt huge and the legs are fitted very baggy due to the bad sizing I measured a 32 and it measured 34.5.
They would also benefit from some velcro to tidy up loose material when using the press studs around the ankles.
They are definitely sized for our more partly cousins over the water.
I have both the klim badlands pro jacket & Jeans for 2 years & they are the best investment I ever made as great in summer with hot weather as best air vents of any motorbike clothing ever owned & can say after doing the NC500 last year they are totally waterproof as had 2 days of heavy rain & was bone dry underneath, have bought these Jeans as lost weight so invested in next size down as will not use any other make other than Klim.
I recently bought this pair of Klim trousers as they are reported to be 100% waterproof, up until now they are, haven't been in the pouring down for a long ride but the fit is good & are of high quality. Yes they were expensive but as they say you get what you pay for. The difference between being soaking wet or dry whilst riding your motorcycle justify the price. I go out on my motorcycle now without worrying about the rain. I recommend these trousers.
