Oxford Deluxe Balaclava - Silk

This is my 3rd Oxford product and honestly I can safely say I'm not a fan of their products.

In this particular example, I can't feel any "silkiness" to it, its surface is quite rough, and my hair is totally electrified after each ride. I think this one will probably be my last Oxford purchase. Average prices for average products, as simple as that.

Apart from keeping your helmet lining clean, it enables your helmet to slide over your ears with ease. It is thin and comfortable and can be used with glasses. It seems to wick moisture away and reduces some of the draughts around your neck without feeling claustrophobic.

I often wear scarfs instead of balaclavas but got annoyed with them falling down when putting my helmet on. This has a great texture to it and feels really nice! It doesn't make me too hot either which is a huge benefit!

Fits well, very comfy. didn't slip or move and hair not frizzy or tangled, what more can a girl want!

Good quality balaclava. Finishing is really nice , has been sewn properly ( unlike some which look really poorly made) .

I changed my helmet and the new 22 06 rating helmets are snugger fitting for sure … this silk balaclava helps stop my hair being pulled when putting the helmet on and I'm sure from a skin care point of view is also better against my skin !
It's so a comfortable fit and easy to hand wash and dry overnight .

Overall quality is good but it's a "one size fits most" situation.

I take an XL size helmet (62?) and I'm finding this a bit hard to get on due to how tight it is going over my head.

Once on it sits mostly ok but it's tight in the width across my temples, and the eye hole is slightly restricting my vision on shoulder checks - not by much but it's noticible as it's a few mm in from the edge of my helmet's visor port in both directions.

Quality is good though, very good at protecting my neck from current cold air, but I'd only recommend it to people who take a L or smaller helmet.

Good, but little bit short.

I prefer silk over polyester, and this balaclava is made from a nice, thick silk. Unfortunately, I'm not keen on the elasticated face aperture, so it drops a star.

This balaclava is so silky comfortable and warm.
It was a bit weird to start with as i'm not used to wearing tight fitting balaclava's. I thought the fit was snug to start but soon got used to it and the breathability is fantastic!
I really like how it fits over the chest slightly and is a snug fit.
Makes wearing my helmet feel really comfortable again, just like it's new!
I can see myself wearing this for a lot longer than just winter

First time buying or using a balaclava. With so many options I had no idea which one to get for all year use. Went with the silk based on other reviews and so far no issues with heat in the helmet or moisture near the mouth after I wear it. I have noticed that it stretches enough to need a wash and dry in between uses or else it takes a bit of fiddling with the second time I wear it or even if I take it off and put it back on more than once or twice in a day. Otherwise no issues, but I will be looking to get a second one for those days when it needs a wash.
