Verified Customer Reviews for Rev'it Vertical Gore-Tex Textile Jacket
I've worn this jacket in the pouring rain and I can confirm I kept completely dry, good size pockets on the out side and having a pocket on the sleeve is a bonus to put bank card in to pay for fuel without having to search for wallet. I wouldn't say the thermal liner is the best and I can't imagine it will keep you that warm when the temperature drops. But overall I'm happy with the purchase and 1st class server from SBS.
Nice because:
Snug, highish neck (stupid variable faster doesn't stay put though)
Comfortable armholes
Cuffs open enough to allow cuff-over-gloves, or close sufficiently to have glove-over-cuff
Kept wind and intermittent rain out for a 130 mile trip on the first wear, but I'm not concerned for two reasons 1) laminated Goretex should do the job and 2) if it doesn't, Sportsbikeshop will sort me out in their usual fantastic fashion.
Bought for my Dad to replace his aging jacket.
I bought this as my identical Revit Vertical jacket is a few years old and has been brilliant, and after a few rides my Dad loves his as well.
Wind and waterproof.
Only issue, lack of arm vents means it's not great for hot days.
I've had the erm "opportunity" to try it out in hot cool and wet, very wet conditions, it passed very well, not a drop got in around the neck due to the adjustable collar, and I like the idea of a credit card pocket on the sleeve. I bought this for commuting and normally wear size xl, however the arms were really tight and I wouldn't have been able to wear warm clothes underneath, I had to go to 2xl to make sure I had enough room underneath for winter clothes. Definitely designed by a biker as it has exactly what we need
This jacket is truly waterproof, I wore this for first time and under torrential sustained rain for over two hours and remained completely dry. I had to opt for XL as the sizing was on the tight side in large, I'm a 45" chest. This is a very good buy at the current reduced price for what is a true Gortex laminated fabric. The quality is first class. It showed excellent breathability.
Bought this to go to Europe, first short trip wasn't very hot, so didn't use the vents.
The neck could be a little bigger, I'm Ta 6 ft woman so if you've got a thick neck it might be snug.
The fit is good length of jacket and sleeves and the pockets work well
Top quality jacket at a competitive price. Very comfortable straight away, no need to "run it in". The armour supplied with it sits well and doesn't get in the way when moving. The optional back protector bought separately fitted easily into the pocket and again is comfortable. I can also tell you that it can handle an hour and a half of torrential rain on the motorway too. A great jacket for commute or tour. As ever first class service from the team at Boston, highly recommended.
First week of using it daily to commute to work and already inside cuff seam give up. On right hand side vent magnetic fit lock fall apart not even been use once.
I am worried what will be in long run.
Thanks to the staff in Preston I was about to purchase a different Revit jacket when this was suggested. Straight away it feels comfy and safe. There are plenty of pockets and good vents, although not on the arms. A back protector should in my opinion be included when you are spending so much on a jacket. Other than that I would highly recommend this jacket.
It's early days yet, and I haven't ridden in the wet, but this is a quality jacket in terms of material and finish, and very stylish for a textile motorbike jacket. I am a 38 chest and went with medium.
AA safety rating and goretex - what more do you need. Really smart jacket and waterproof. Looking forward to many years with it.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Is very warm and is very waterproof. (tested in heavy rain)
I've always been a rev'it rider with leathers and textiles however this is my first Gore Tex and it doesn't disappoint. Fit is adjustable and good, only worn in thecold so far and very cosy. No need to review in the wet as trust the GoreTex name. Final mention to price promise, despite being a good bit cheaper elsewhere SBS honoured their price promise when others would have wiggled out
I spent untold hours on the internet watching reviews on jackets, their constructions, the differences between the materials and how waterproofing is achieved.
The bottom line is that unless it is Gore-tex and costs £350+, then too many corners will have been cut, and you are going to buy another jacket sooner than you wish. My Oxford laminate lasted three years and a lot of miles, so I'm hoping for more from the Rev'it
It Rev'It Vertical isn't cheap, but having ridden around Wales in the rain for a few days, I can confirm it is waterproof. The arms - as with most Rev'it jackets - are longer than most other manufacturers but not so long that they are a problem.
No zips at the cuffs and a wide opening make putting winter gloves inside the sleeve easy, even when you have one glove already on. The velcro at the wrist ensures a tight fit. I also tried the jacket on over a Keis heated jacket, having removed the thermal liner and could still get the G701 short heated gloves inside the sleeves.
The internal pockets take a large Samsung phone, and the external pockets are waterproof. And that perhaps is the one drawback. The external pockets are so secure that they are awkward to use. However, Rev'it put a credit card pocket on the left sleeve, making cashless payments easy without the need to unzip everything.
Comfortable, warm and well-sized.
This is an incomplete review as I have not worn the jacket in heavy rain.
Wait and discover?
Went to SBS Kirton to buy a new suit as my 7 year old Streetguard had delaminated.
Pre booked Rukka was far too small even though I sized as all my previous Jackets and Jeans next sizes were out of stock.
The staff were so helpful in helping me work through 2nd and 3rd choices to find a perfect fit.
So far only used in fine but cold weather but it is superb so far.
This feels a lot lighter than my old jacket, it has great airflow with the vents open and as I went for the silver/white version it does repel the sun better than a black one. It's really comfortable and I went with one size up than normal, it fits like it was tailor made. I would definitely recommend it highly. Not been in any real rain yet, but as it is laminated then I can see no issue.
Very close to perfect, and quite frankly, it ought to be at this price right? And for that reason my review of this jacket will be harsher. That said, I would 100% buy this jacket again and recommend it to others. But because of the price point I am being harsher with my score and the points i'm making. That said, in the real world these points aren't 'negatives' but more a case of things that could be better.
This replaced my Dainese jacket which I would say was water resistant on the outer and had a water proof liner inner.
This jacket is waterproof, period. I've worn it in drizzle and showers but no heavy rain yet, but did blast it with the shower head. The water just beads off (and thanks to gravity it beads down to the legs so that's something to bear in mind).
I'm a 45" chest, more triangle in shape, with a slight belly, and the XL with the optional back protecter fits perfectly. I haven't tried the large but I imagine I could get away with it if I were okay with a snug fit, or to wear it without the inner. But for me this is a jacket that will always have the inner liner in and ride in a more upright position, so the XL is the one for me for that little bit of extra range of motion in the back.
Thus far i've had no issue with water creep with the zips. The chest vent flaps have a good amount of velcro along the bottom, but the real genius move here is that the flaps hang a good inch lower than the bottom of the vent, and even if the water somehow manages to climb up it would then have to get over a raised rubbery gusset that goes around the vent.
The magnetic holders for the vent flaps work great.
I have a 16-ish" neck and have the collar on the loosest setting. No velcro here. It's a single popper. The adjustments are made via the male end of the popper being on a ratcheted hardpiece on the collar. Great for getting the same fitment every time, a pain to make quick adjustments. To do so would mean undoing the popper, taking off your gloves, and using a blunt instrument to move the popper on the collar along the ratchet.
It takes a bit of practice getting used to closing this popper. I've found that I don't feel that hardpiece in use. I always hated velcro on the collar sticking to the bottom of my helmet!!
I think Rev'it missed a trick here in that they could have put poppers on the chest for the vent flaps and used their magnetic system on the collar instead for ease of use.
The liner zips into the jacket with no zipper on the inner itself so putting this jacket on is as simple as putting on the whole thing and zipping up the outer.
The sleeves are held in place with two poppers, each being colour coded so you don't twist up the inner sleeves.
This jacket has good adjustment on the wrists (velcros), forearms, and hips (the latter two being straps). The straps can't be adjusted on the fly and you will need to take the jacket off and use both hands to do so. Again, great for always getting the same fit every time with no loosening over time.
The wrists have plenty of material for width adjustment. The downside being that when narrowed it does bulge. In my opinion what would have been better and solved this is to forget the wrist pocket, and move the forearm straps closer to the wrist, which could then be used to hold down the bulge.
The sleeves are a perfect length.
I didn't have to adjust the elbow or shoulder protection position so I can't speak to this feature.
