Sorry to have to write a negative review but it needs to be said. I purchased the jacket in January and it started to show premature signs of wear in the cuffs and the warranty rejected my claim saying it's wear and tear.Saying possibly due to velcro coming into contact with cuffs so basically I can't wear gloves with velcro apparently..Not happy with the outcome and the two year warranty is worthless.

I bought my first ever textile jacket summer 2021. Sizing was always going to be an issue as I was a mere twelve and a half stone, so I popped down to my local motorcycle shop to try some on. As the bulk of their products were Richa and looked as good as any other brand I tried some on until I found the size that was right for me at the time. I then ordered the jacket from SBS. The jacket arrived and I had to check it out so went on a hundred and eighty mile trip during storm Arwen and wow the jacket ticked all the boxes from comfort, wind blocking and dryness. Considering I was thinking of buying a Gortex jacket, I watched the prices creep upwards so decided to buy a laminate jacket at almost half the cost, so glad I did.
So I had this jacket for three years with no complaints other than me putting on weight hence it became a little too snug so I decided to buy the next size up. I'm six foot two inches tall and a forty four inch chest and I bought a 2XL which gives more than adequate room for additional layers for those colder trips. Although it feels larger it still ticks all the original boxes of the first jacket.
Personally I consider this jacket to be an excellent choice if you are thinking of buying Gortex but are in two minds because of the price.
Again I can't thank SBS enough for a quality service.

I tried on at least a dozen jackets in the Boston shop, the staff were more than happy to bring out different styles / sizes and also answer my questions, respond to my comments - Top Marks to the staff. The Richa jacket is very well made, and comes with D30 armour, which is a real plus for me. The sizing tends to be small, I had to increase from XL to a 2XL, and its a snug fit at that. The vents are good, I especially like the two way cuff vents. The cuffs on almost all the laminated jackets I tried were very snug over the top of a pair of normal winter gloves, the Richa jacket is also snug, but slightly better than the others, with the exception of the Oxford Mondial. Tested its water resistance in a heavy downpour on the way home from the shop - passed with no issues.
Its a comfortable jacket, pockets are ok, although another top or poachers pocket would be useful for me. The collar band is quite low, which I prefer to avoid snagging the helmet / strap - I usually wear a buff anyway. The collar stud is fairly tight and the velcro makes it a little fiddly to close until you get the hang of it.
Overall very pleased with the jacket.

My favourite goretex jacket was turned into a colander in a RTA the month before my European bike tour. This Richa jacket was in stock at a good price. Not goretex but other reviews suggests it will be water tight.
Thr chest vents don't open as far as I would like and the cuffs are decidedly difficult to get gloves under.
The back protector that came with the jacket was quite narrow so I up graded that with a larger level 2 one.
Fit wise it's perfect. I bought a size up from usual and I am glad I did.
The outer fabric seems a bit stiff buy it feels durable. Probably even more durable than my last jacket for 1/2 the price.
The tight cuffs and rubbish back protector are my main criticisms hence my score.
SBS did their usual high level of service and a useful discount of the jacket price.

Good vents, zips seem v good quality, and liner works well.. not rained yet so cant comment on waterproofing

Excellent quality that I've had various Richa clothing over time. My 1st laminate jacket so can not tell how effective it is, but feels excellent. One thing which I will say though is tight for gloves under sleeves these also Richa arctic time will tell how it goes. Excellent service from sportsbikeshop as usual

I can only give this jacket a good rating because I have only been using it for just over a week.
The build quality seems ok going by my previous jacket which lasted 4 years of daily use, that was a Richa also.
Not sure on the waterproofness as have been using an over jacket in the heavy rain we've had.
I recommend Richa as always.

Very good, well priced jacket. Comfortable with removable thermal liner. D30 protection. Have not been caught in the rain yet but would assume it will be good.

A great jacket that does exactly what it should.

This is a replacement jacket. All good so far.
First jacket fine all winter, then leaked 3 times on left shoulder this summer.
yellow trim peeled off as well and front velcro stopped working.
Original replaced by sportsbikeshop.
overall a great jacket, takes a few rides to lossen up then comfy.
Cuffs are too small for my winter gloves to go inside.
Dries very quickly when wet rather than soaking into the jacket. a bonus when drying in the winter..
overall, a great jacket. hopefully no leaks this time.

Good quality, comfortable and a good fit. I have worn this in heavy rain and it kept me warm and dry. The vents are great too.

Great jacket, fits well and is comfy to wear. Keeps you warm on colder rides haven't been out in heavy rain yet but hopefully it will keep me dry. Jacket could do with more pockets and a pop stud at the bottom instead of only Velcro.

Ordered jacket, delivered on time by Sportsbikeshop. Great jacket but after a few weeks, the zip went. Emailed Sportsbikeshop, they organised the return, got it repaired by them and sent back. It cost me £5.95 postage which I paid, the jacket is like new but disappointed that it cost me more money after only owning the jacket for a few months. I still have 100% confidence in Sportsbikeshop , but not Richa

All credit to sportsbikeshop as I originally ordered the wrong jacket. Thank you for the super fast response and work to deliver the jacket I wanted. Perfect jacket for me, fits great (go up a size). Performs great in the wind and rain. My now go to jacket for everyday.
