Momo By TCX Firegun-3 WP Boots - Green / Black

These are my second pair of Momos, in a newer iteration, and mo-mostly, I'm pretty pleased.
Out of the box they appear well made of quality materials,
and, I think, good looking for a moto boot.They are immediately comfortable, correctly sized, (I'm a 12 in US, 46 European) and are lighter than one might expect. The shifter protection pad is well designed and not too noticeable if you worry about aesthetics of moto wear...
They are not designed, or built to be anything but a commuter/frequent rider shoe, imo - I would not expect them to protect my feet in an accident where my feet are trapped or violently bashed, but they'd hold up in a less severe slide situation better than a pair of trainers.
I believe they're supposed to be waterproof, but haven't had opportunity to confirm that. My last pair seemed to keep my feet dry enough in moderate rain, and generally held up quite well.
My only gripe about this new design might not bother some, but, to me, the lacing system is quite annoying. The tightening mechanism is fine - you pull the laces through a cinching, spring loaded, locking device, which works well enough, but then you're left with two long, flaccid strings, which you must then somehow coil and stuff into the little marsupial like pouch on the tongue. My first pair had a regular lace, to be tied normally, and then a nice, velcro band that safely covered the dangling, potentially dangerous lace loops.
I don't know why Momo changed it, but there's always a design gimmick that's just too irresistible...

After all that, I will say that I have begrudgingly mastered the lace tongue stuffing method, and would definitely recommend these shoes for the urban rider who desires basic protection, excellent comfort, and subtle style.

Thought I'd try something a bit different and glad I did! Really comfortable, could easily be worn all day and look like standard footwear!
