Rev'it Component H2O Textile Trousers - Black

Would have given these a big five if it wasn't for a couple of flaws given how expensive these are.

Sizing runs big, if buying online order a couple of sizes to try.
I'm normally a 34 in Revit and they fell off me with the belt fully tightened.
However if I wanted to remove the supplied hip armour for padded under shorts then I would have kept that size.
If wanting to wear with the supplied hip armour go a size down, the hips don't open very much and are a tight squeeze to get into, but they fit perfectly once on. The rubber waist band keeps the pants in place and the built in belt is great for adjusting for layers. Could maybe do with a little more stretch but I don't find they restrict much.
The supplied knee pads don't sit right and are slightly to one side and won't adjust any, but there's plenty of room for large knee pads or a brace of your choice. Quite frankly the design of the pants renders the std pads useless because of how baggy the trousers are, go with alternative knee pads.

Legs fasten up ok even over large boots and haven't come open so far, although the tiny press studs aren't the best, also the zipper sometimes snags on the liner but you get used to tucking it away.
Not sure how long the press studs will remain useable after they see some abuse or go rusty, it would have been nice to see revits fidlock system here or a locking buckle.
The inner waterproof flap is nice but one of mine have a tear in the stitching at the top, it's not let water in so I haven't sent them back until I get another spare pair.

I held off reviewing these until I encountered rain, the way the leg vents are positioned had me worried rain would collect and drive in but all good so far. Only did an hour In a heavy storm and seated a lot of the time with water collecting on the seat around the crotch but I was bone dry when I got home.

The side pockets are pretty useless, the zipper tab is tiny and so is the opening. I can barely get my dry hands in without gloves on and forget it with wet hands or gloves on. Minor thing but annoying at this price point, a collapsible cargo style pocket would have been better.

Overall I rate these pants, I'm a fan of layering but sometimes I just want a do it all item to pull on over a base layer with or without the liner for short trips and these do it well. I thought the shorts style insulated liner was a bit quirky at first but makes sense once you switch to a knee brace or other knee protection.

If Revit addressed the little issues I would give top marks, however others may not see my criticisms as issues to them
