Knox Ladies Shield Spectra Denim Jeans - Indigo Blue

I ordered both the size 10 and 12 for sizing. I am standardly a size 10 in fashion jeans. There seemed to be a massive difference in the waist size where I had to check that the 12 wasn't a 14, as there was a huge gap at the back. However, the 10 fitted great in the leg and hip, just a little snug on the waist but perfectly fine for riding a retro bike and for the first time I didn't need to use a belt. I previously wore Draggin Twista jeans, which were very hugging and flattering but not great for me as I didn't have the opportunity to have hip armour (which my husband convinced me to have, after quite a few years of trying!) To be fair the knee armour in the Knox is hardly noticeable and is so comfortable, the hip armour you can notice, as they appear like two mini humps, but longer t-shirts cover this. The only thing I didn't like visually is the long front zip, it's not very flattering but it's really easy to pull them on unlike some other jeans. The last observation is that they are much cooler than my kevlar-lined Draggin jeans. I never felt the wind before but this is very noticeable, again you can wear tights/leggings underneath so not an issue but thought I would mention. All in all, I feel so much safer riding with these due to the construction and armour and the legs are slim, so not too bad on the looks either.

I struggle with sizing on jeans as I have a narrow waist and a larger bum and thighs. I went for the size 12 based on the size chart on the manufacturers website. Measurements for a size 12 were waist 30inch, hips 39.5inch, my measurements are waist 28inch, hips 40inch and the size 12 fit great, there is some stretch in the denim so they are more moveable and breathable than my old lined pair of bike jeans. The waist doesn't feel too big as they're high-waisted, they're the first pair of bike jeans I haven't had to wear a belt with and the first pair where I can actually fit the knee pads into! I can verify how strong these jeans are as I went to try to turn them up but my huge fabric scissors wouldn't cut the fabric! So I'm pretty sure my heavy duty sewing machine wouldn't have gone through it either...I have no idea how they are manufacturing these! So the only down side is if they're too long like they are for me you're left with rolling them up (twice for me!). So, if you need to do that and want your boots to go over the top, it won't work. Other than that these are very impressive jeans and I'm so glad I bought them!

Im a 12-14 in regular jeans, however, the size 14 of these Knox jeans was a good 3 to 4 inches away from me being able to fasten them at the waist (they are high waisted), although they were a good (but snug) fit everywhere else. So, I exchanged them for a 16 - something which, ladies, I'm sure you'll understand was a bit depressing, but with the armour pads inserted at the hips and knees they fitted nicely everywhere and are very comfortable, so will be good for long journeys or all day wearing on and off the bike. Im 5'6" and the length is perfect. I can't fit them in my calf length motorcycle boots, so wear them with my Rev'It high tops (also another great purchase from Sportsbike shop). Overall, Im very happy. The fabric, finish and styling are top quality and this makes me happy to pay the premium price. You get what you pay for!
