Rukka Kalix 2.0 Gore-Tex Textile Jacket - Black

After watching Tony and his review I decideded to take the plunge and buy the Rukks Kalix jacket
From the start the jacket felt so comfortable and easy to use. The vents work really well and good air flow throughout the jacket. Pockets are easily accessible and the chest armour pockets work well in holding my mobile phone and wallet. The Gore tex is excellent in wet weather. The jacket is warm and I purchased the Rukka down jacket which fits neatly under the kalix. This jacket is worth the money and the quality is top notch. I'll be wearing this jacket on my next tour of Scotland.
Soortsbike gave excellent advice on fitting and product. I'm a 44 chest and got the XL which fits perfectly either with just a t shirt and base layers or a sweatshirt and down jacket. There's adjustment on the sides and a zip both work very well. This jacket is definitely worth the investment and with a 5 year warranty you can't go wrong. Good quality Road and Touring jacket.

Had wanted to try a Rukka jacket for a long time . Watched the videos by Tony at Sportsbikeshop -which are very helpful. I am a size 42" chest and ordered the Kalix 2 in size large (my usual size in jacket). It doesn't have a liner but there is room to fit a fleece under the jacket with no problems. If you're only summer riding you may be able to drop a size. I ordered the Rukka XTR back protector size medium at the same time and it fits perfectly. Very happy, fast delivery from sportsbikeshop.

I bought the Kalix because I was fed up with lined jackets that eventually wet-out. This jacket doesn't do that and water just rolls off it. It's light and not padded but I wear it over a heated jacket. The two work together perfectly. The fit is good, collar and cuffs simple and effective.
For years, when I rode in the rain, I got anxious about getting cold and wet. Now I'm absolutely sure I'll get home warm and dry, however long the journey.

Perfect combination between casual and sports. I bought this jacket mainly for commuting , be aware on the size/ stretch as I had to get a size smaller than usual . Top quality product, made to last

A fantastically versatile jacket, with a good level of protection, generous fit and water resistant zips and pockets.

This is my second jacket, the first doing 6 years and now continuing as an Off Road option.

Feels right in the winter as well as summer months due to its generous zipped bents at shoulder, back and sides, which considering the functionality, is a credit to the design team!

Been all over the UK and Europe in the Kalix, and rate it a strong 9.5 out of 10.

Having rear back and chest protectors included at the price would make it a 10/10

Seems a good jacket, have not tried it in the rain but wore it 2°c for my half hour daily commute. Seems warm with down jacket underneath, slight breeze up sleave but I tuck my gloves in.
Seems a little stiff but once riding its fine.
The sizing was good. I'm normally a large and I took a large with room for a back protector and down jacket.

The only bad thing really and this is subjective I guess is the high collar, it feels like a neck brace as my helmet pushes down on it. I ride with it slightly open and folded over bit for them wet days it might be a little uncomfortable.

Upgraded from another brand as I wanted a WATERPROOF jacket and finally I found one. Nice quality, simple clean styling and waterproof. No lining which suits me as I can just wear an extra layer instead of installing/removing a liner. Would like it if the cuffs were a little bit bigger to make it easier to pull over cuffs.

Had loads of cheaper jackets in the past currently got 7. Now I really wanted the Nivarla but after looking at the Specs it convinced me 2 layers laminated goretex would be sufficient, only worn the jacket once cold 3° day but dry base layer, cotton T shirt and a heated Gilet, fit is lovely for my 3xl size but arms were so cold as there is no mid layer so considering the 2.0 down jacket at the reduced price I'm willing to take the plunge.

Top jacket, very light and comfortable on a short ride, but I like it more that way. Could be used any season by adding fleece under in winter months. Very good quality

I'm 38" chest, 5'6. Medium build.

I went for XS and the fit was perfect. I ride with standalone back protector and alpinestars midlayer. Perfect fit and length with no tight spots anywhere. The neck neoprene collar is high but feels comfortable without any restrictions. Sleeve length is perfect and seems to fit thicker gloves underneath the cuffs. Quality is supreme. I got caught out in a heavy downpour and stayed dried. This being a laminated, the jacket didn't soak any water and dried out pretty quickly. This will be a great jacket for all year around and brilliant for touring as its easy to put on and off and it is a very light jacket. The length was perfect when you sit on the bike meaning it doesn't bunch up nor ride up.

I rode in the countryside weather being around 8 degrees. Fingers were the only cold parts. That's now sorted with heated gloves.

The reflective panels are generous and you will get seen in the dark. Decent pockets with secure zips. I use the internal chest protector pockets for keeping things as wallet and mobile phone. The adjustments at the waist and upper arms are very handy.

Overall a great jacket for the price. I am very satisfied with this jacket. Big bonus is, once you register, you get 6 years warranty. What's there not to like. Top product all throughout.

I have now purchased the Nivala 2.0 trousers to go with the jacket. This is another great product but a little heavy duty. However, knowing that's it will keep you 100% dry during touring us enough for me.

In biking world, there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear. I'd like to think I have the best gear against adverse weather conditions. I can now go out there enjoy my touring.

Absolutely fantastic jacket.
Super comfortable, lightweight and crash protection flexible.
Got caught in the 2 hour heavy rain and this jacket kept me bone dry.
Although it seems as expensive jacket, but for quality worth it every penny.

After a great trip to Walse from Bonnie Scotland, we drove home in Torrential Rain for 4 hours. Jacket and Trousers done an excellent job. Bone dry, comfortable and overall very happy.

I wanted a replacement Jacket and I couldn't justify the massive cost of the "high end" Rukka jackets so the Kalix seemed to fit the bill.
It fits well is very comfortable (I'm a big bloke) and zips to my Rukka Trousers. I've done just over 1000 summer miles and I'm delighted. Plenty of vents when hot and totally waterproof in the showers!

Two inside pockets for phone and wallet. Two outside for keys and earplugs. I don't need any more than that. The two ply laminated goretex is noticeably more flexible than the three ply I had on my previous jacket and current trousers and more comfortable because of that. The armour is light and comfortable as is the optional back protector.

I've bought several items now from SportsBikeShop and the ordering process and delivery have always been perfectly executed. Jacket looks great and high quality, can't wait to try it out on the bike

Jacket is really comfortable and much lighter than my other jackets. Had to buy back protector separately which was disappointing as jacket was expensive. 100% waterproof and breathable thanks to laminated Goretex and looks really good
