Mixed feelings.

First thing to know is that the picture used on the website is of the older version of this jacket and not correct. The zip now stops short of the collar which has about a 1 inch gap at the front like that shown on the ladies version.
Positives:
This is not a waxed material which is a good thing in my view (waxed jackets smell).
I love the style and this is my main reason for keeping it.
The jacket flows air very well and will no doubt be great for summer riding.
I like the that the zip cover clips in place using magnets. Very neat.
The secondary zipped-mesh panel which allows you to ride with the main zip open is clever and will be great on hot days.
You can add a clip-in wind blocker or thermal liner for cooler days.
Negatives:
The main material is not particularly heavy and I doubt its crash worthiness. What appear to be double thickness panels on the arms and shoulders are just a single thickness stitched over some foam to make it appear thicker. Not impressed by that. Town riding only!
Because the secondary mesh panel and zip add thickness, the clasp for the outer main zip digs into your collar bone. This is annoying.
The buckled neck fastener is useless. I just tuck it back out of the way.
The level 1 armour in captive inside the lining and is a proper pain in the backside to adjust. You also won't be able to upgrade it. Silly.
The pocket for the back protector is also part of the lining so the weight of the back protector causes the collar to fold in on itself which is irritating.
Overall a stylish jacket with some clever features, but badly let down by poor execution. Cannot recommend.

Typical german in style and quality

This jacket is a waxed textile jacket but looks a bit more like canvas, that is better I think but over time it will have some patina. Fit is okay for me in 52-54 but I would like to have something for taller/longer skinnier figure as their gloves department has different fits. It comes with good shoulder and elbow protectors but you will need to purchase back protector separately.
The pockets and zips and magnets, straps etc are very nice both in function and style. The front mesh strip for ventilation is a good idea and it has a good waterproof internal pocket as well but the other pockets are semi-waterproof too.

Great jacket

Nice quality jacket. Fits well and looks good on too. It's got some great features like the vented panel on front and the magnets on top and bottom to secure collar and waist band are a nice touch. Works well off the bike too. I have found it's good from about 13 degrees up to the mid to late 20's above this you really need a full mesh jacket. You could go lower if you added a fleece. The only negative I have is why do you never get a back protector with jackets !
