Verified Customer Reviews for Oxford Mondial Advanced Textile Trousers
Our customers say…
The Oxford Mondial trousers have received mixed reviews from customers. The fit and comfort are generally praised, with the adjustable waist being a notable feature. However, several customers reported issues with waterproofing, particularly in the crotch area. Some found the leg vents ineffective and the bottoms of the trousers too baggy, causing discomfort while riding. Complaints about the thermal liner and knee armor positioning were common. Despite these issues, the trousers were appreciated for their warmth and quick-drying properties.

Just what I needed.
12 December 2024 by Ian W
I need reliable waterproof protection as I commute everyday on my bike. I've had the Mondial Jacket for a few months now with my only gripe being the collar is a bit low but it's kept me warm and dry. When my RST textile pants started failing me I bought the matching Mondial trousers. Again only one gripe being the pockets are tight and on the sides of the hips like jeans so are pretty much redundant. They are quite loose fitting which I like and are very comfortable. These are warm and keep me dry. I thought I'd hate the bib and braces (which can be removed) but I love them. They stop any drafts going up your back. I would recommend all the Mondial range so far.

Fantastic in cold rain
30 November 2024 by DB
I'm a big boy so I take the liner out of everything I buy and wear a merino base layer instead.
These fit completely true to size, I ordered what I'd order in a pair of jeans and they were perfect for me.
I had the pleasure of a stormy wet ride the very first day these were delivered and I got off the bike totally dry underneath.
They feel large around my boots but they dont seem to flap around at all. Construction feels high quality.
In 6c weather with a thermal layer I was sweating.

Baggy legs!
20 November 2024 by Anonymous
I'm a 38" waist, which is an XL in the Oxford size guide but I ended up needing a 3XL (42" waist). At this size, the legs are very flared at the bottom. This is partially corrected with the velcro ankle straps but the overall feel is baggy in the leg. The trousers are easy to get on and off with the liner attached. This was not the case with a number of other manufacturers. I've yet to try them below 9 degrees but they feel comfortable at this temperature. Waterproofing is as effective as the jacket, which has performed admirably in the several months I have owned it. The detachable braces work very well, with little pressure on the shoulders required to keep the trousers in place. Overall, very happy. As always, the MK staff offered excellent advice and were patient throughout my several attempts to find the right trousers,

Great fit & length
30 September 2024 by Dave
This fit me the best out of a few adventure styles and for the money (on sale) is amazing value. The vents are very good and the thermal liner is warm and comfy and without it it's cool. The pockets could do with being placed a little more on the side as a phone in them gets squeezed between the top of your leg and your hip a bit. Long length is just right for me off the bike and doesn't ride up my ankles on the bike (I'm 32" inside leg). I haven't worn them all day in the rain but I got caught in fairly heavy rain on a ride and they kept me bone dry. Nice not to have to faff with a removable waterproof layer.

Waterproof was key
09 September 2024 by Jonathan P
My priority for a waterproof trouser was that it was also warm - so no need to wear anything underneath other than thermals in winter (maybe), and avoid the sweatiness of over-trousers.
Unlike the matching jacket - which I purchased even though I don't need it right now - I took my own measurements and had a perfect fit. The length is spot on, and the waist adjustment allows for any discrepancy there.
They have been christened in the rain and didn't let a drop through at any point, including the seat of the pants, which is a favourite. Admittedly it wasn't an absolute downpour and the temperature was 15 degrees, so not the full test yet, but a very promising start.
The knee armour is nicely placed. The hip padding feels unusual at first, but can be removed if not wanted. Very happy so far.

Waterproof textile trouser
27 August 2024 by Mark H
When I ordered the trousers comfort and style were the top priority for me. 2nd ride out and I got an absolute drenching in heavy rain that wasn't expected. The trousers with no thermal lining kept my legs warm and dry ad a bone. Couldn't believe just how good the trousers coped with the rain. Highly recommend them, very comfey and do exactly what it says on the label.
They are wide bottom but I like that as they go over my boots very well.

Good Value
26 August 2024 by Chris P
I bought these to go with the matching jacket. I got smallest size available which are slightly too big, but braces mean this isn't really an issue. Good features such as zip to attach to jacket, body armour and useful pockets. They kept me dry during a torrential shower. Good price and usual excellent service from SBS.

Great value.
24 August 2024 by David M
Bought these to match the jacket. Nice amount of room (unlike my previous more costly ones) to get adventure boots under the trousers. Built in braces are a bonus and I like the back section. Attach to jacket ok and further zipper supplies for non matching kit. Size As expected but slightly longer in leg (32) than some garments. Not tested in very wet weather yet. I'm happy with them so far.

Wowsers trousers?
21 July 2024 by Oliver R
I had a pretty specific must have feature when I was looking for some new riding trousers, and that was that they must have enough room to fit over Motocross boots.
These trousers have a really nice generous cut at the bottom of the leg and perfectly accommodate my Sidi X-Power boots.
They have a zip opening with a velcro closure which really helps with getting boots on and off as you can pull them right out of the way.
There's a nice big vent on the thigh which is great for the one day of UK summer. Otherwise it fastens down out of the way.
The thermal liner is fine, although the single button fixing at the bottom of the leg is a bit lacking I think. A circular zip like on many other trousers would have been nice as it's easy to snag your foot in the liner as you take it out. I personally won't really use the liner as i prefer close fitting leggings to a baggy liner.
They seem waterproof. It's very easy to get a false idea if you don't get everything in the right place. For instance I let my t-shirt go untucked and water got onto it and wicked up and then down and I felt a little wet. After that lesson learned, it was all good.
The first time wearing them was a 4 day green lane trip up the UK with about 10 hour riding days so they saw every kind of conditions barring snow. The kneepads sit a bit low for me as I'm only 5'7" in mediums but I'm hoping I can alter the pouch a bit to accommodate that. There is adjustment but it's the wrong way for what I need. As it is, my mx boots keep them up, but if I was to wear them with smaller boots I think the pads would sit too low.
All in all, very happy with them for the money and Sportsbikeshop were a great company to buy them from, getting me a pair next morning after the ones i tried on in the shop had a defect we noticed.

Can't fault
07 July 2024 by Zak M
Bought these as im planning to do longer tour rides and needed a pair of more comfortable trousers to wear during thr summer than my motorcycle jeans.
Bought them thinking I might have to return them, but after the first wear I knew I did not.
Really comfy, Knee protection is a given but the hip is nice and can't feel it at all. There's thigh vents that can be opened with a zip and held in place with a popper to prevent blowing. However, slightly difficult to open/close while on the bike in the seated position. Removal thermal liner is easy to change
Would recommend (granted I did get them in a sale at 45% off)

Perfect
27 June 2024 by C T
As with the matching jacket I've recently reviewed, I've not worn these in anything but fair weather. But, again, the build quality seems very good. The ventilation is great. comes with knee armour but hip armour is optional. Jacket and trouser combo was recommended by my brother who has ridden in all weathers in this gear and says he's never been cold or wet. I would recommend.

Oxford Mondial advanced pants
17 June 2024 by Shijo A
First time trying the shop in uk. Very good experience. No complaints. The trousers are good quality. I see why people complain about the bottom near the feet being so wide, but there is a purpose to it. If u use big boots it has to be that way. So for me that's a plus. It helps me put on my boots much easier. It's a laminate so not heavy, another plus. Haven't worn it during heavy rain so can't say about waterproofing yet. Fit is good, I went one size up, that's because of my body shape not trousers issue. overall very good trousers for the money. The only reason I am giving 4 is because I haven't tried it in rain to confirm if fully waterproof. Once I do, I will update the comment. Happy customer here.
