Good Storie!! Fast and eccellenti description
Good looking panniers which look good on a classic bike and are of robust construction.
I bought these for when I do a bit of light shopping, they look good on my RE Classic 350 and they come with shoulder straps so you can use them as single shoulder bags.
Look great, construction seems solid, only criticism is that they are roll top and I have my doubts as to how well they will keep water out
Lovely retro style with modern attempts at waterproofing with inner bags. Bought after a recent price drop, as I was unsure which type of pannier to buy. The price made the decision easy. They fit with the style of the BSA Gold Star 650 and offer options to tour with some style.
I got these for my BSA A65 after trying to find panniers that would look right on a classic bike.
My bike had wire pannier support frames already fitted from a previous owner, so I wanted to make use of these to secure my new ones.
These Oxford Heritage ones have good strong adjustable support straps, and I was able to position 3 across the frame under the seat and one horizontally around the existing support frame. Took me about 20 minutes in total and they feel really secure.
I haven't had the chance to test them in wet conditions yet, but each bag is lined with what looks like a fixed internal waterproof liner. The securing buckles look of the right period too, the overall quality seems good for the price - I'm really happy with the overall look.
Bought these for my Dad's Bonneville Ace Cafe edition and they fit the theme perfectly. We're using the official Triumph pannier racks which these bags interface with great. The shoulder straps for using off the bike are a great idea too. Off to Ireland next week to give them a proper road trip test!
These panniers are well made a good value for money. They have a waterproof lining but I haven't tested them in the rain yet. They are easy to fit to the bike ( I am using them with generic givi pannier supports to keep them from rubbing against the shocks etc). One clip was seized but loosened up easily with lubrication. They have reinforced bottoms but other than that they do not keep their shape well when empty. I have reinforced mine with lightweight plastic to remedy this. Not essential but just a matter of preference.
I purchased these classic looking bags along with the matching seat pack, to use on a couple of my old bikes.
The waxed canvas has a quality feel and dosent have a tacky feel like inferior products. You can't go wrong with Oxford kit, it is generally well put together to provide many years of service.
The inner bag liners are a great idea and effectively turn the bags into dry sacks.
The bags come with plenty of straps and anchor points to facilitate fixing to practically any bike.
I have used them on a Dnepr k75 outfit and a Kawasaki zr 550, they look great on both machines and compliment the overall look of the bikes.
The only minor niggle I have is with the imitation leather used around some of the fixings etc. It is a nasty plastic that feels altogether wrong alongside the high quality materials used for the rest of the construction.
I have given the bags 5 stars regardless of this fault because I am not a materials expert, unlike the people that designed the product. They will have a perfectly logical reason for going with the plastic as opposed to using genuine leather. Anyway, from a distance you can't tell it's plastic and hopefully it will not determinate over time.
The bags are roomy enough to contain plenty of gear for camping coupled with the seat bag. I have done three separate trips using them so far and can't fault them.
Go on, treat yourself, you know you want to!
Excellent, high quality panniers that have an authentic vintage look. I chose the Khaki and really love them, a black version is also available.
Fitted to my bonneville and they have the right look, very in keeping with the style, not huge but great value.
Ridden in the rain and although soggy the waterproof liners worked and kept the water out
Panniers are of reasonably good quality and mostly well made. The cloth side of things is good quality thick cotton with a wax like substance permeated throughout so will be shower resistant with a waterproof lining in a nice deep red tone. The outer is very easily marked and mine arrived with quite a few marks already on them and particularly one side where it was folded in packing. I decided against returning as it will do this with age anyway so thought nothing more of it. The buckles are great and will work well when fully loaded. The main issue I found was with the 4 clips to supposedly hold the top once folded to help prevent water ingress which were very poorly made. One clip was completely seized 2 others opened but wouldn't close and one performed as it should once I had used some silicon lubricant on it. The one that was completely stuck took a lot of persuasion to move at all but it is now working but very stiff, the other 2 I have managed to free up and lubricate but still stick open on occasion. Hopefully all 4 will work as expected once it has had some proper use.
Seems to be well made, useful capacity, time will tell on wear and tear. Waterproof lining looks as if it would be up to the job. Loose strap restraints are poor. Looks good and am pleased with the product.
Bought these to fit on my Harley Davidson 883 Sportster basically for touring and also because I liked the retro look. They look really fantastic on the bike and are really good quality, so I am really looking forward to some Summer touring
They look the dogs wotsits on my retro bike and are the perfect size for everyday use. Would also consider longer trips away with an extra bag. Appear to be robust which time will tell. Easy to fit but although they come with good shoulder straps for carrying I doubt I'd bother fiddling a few minutes to take them off.
Lovely looking bags, however would improve with leather trimming but still good value for the money
Though I've not used them fully loaded, I have fitted them to my Triumph T120.
They fir very well and are a great fit for the T120.
Of course they have bags of chic retro style, but they are totally functional.
The fittings are easy to use and I feel confident the contents of the bags will be kept safe and secure.
The price means they are affordable and the Oxford badge means they will be reliable.

Questions and Answers
Maybe a silly question, but the Oxford Heritage bag, it states 40L 20l each bag, so are they sold as a pair then?
February 24, 2020Yes, these Panniers are sold as a pair.
Will these fit my G310 BMW , how do they attach to bike?
March 6, 2019Unfortunately as this is a universal product we are not able to advise on specific fitments, apologies. Oxford state - 1.Roll closure at least 3 times and secure with clip buckles. 2. The panniers attach together using six opposing integral Hook and Loop straps (3 on each pannier). 3. The two opposing central straps should be fastened together securely and mounted together underneath the seat of the motorcycle. 4. The four remaining straps should be fastened securely and mounted over (or under) the seat to allow the best fit for your particular motorcycle. 5. The minimum Hook and Loop straps overlap (contact patch) should be 15cm. The straps should then be adjusted so that the panniers sit tight against the side of the motorcycle and do not sag. 6. If the Hook and Loop straps are too long they can be cut down with a pair of scissors. However, ensure the minimum contact patch is still achieved. 7. The 4 adjustable webbing straps may then be used to hold the panniers firmly in place by attaching them to an appropriate secure part of the motorcycle, such as dedicated luggage hooks or footrests but not to the indicators! These should then be tensioned to prevent the panniers moving, rolled at the ends and secured using hook and loop tabs. (Fig.1) 8. Use bungees (sold separately) to secure any remaining attachment points on the bags to an appropriate part of the motorcycle, if necessary. 9. The panniers must not be free to move as this may a) cause an unsafe riding situation b) cause paintwork to be damaged c) allow the panniers to touch the exhaust and burn. 10. Test to make sure that the bag cannot move position and come into contact with the rear wheel. 11. The panniers should always be loaded evenly. 12. Insert semi-rigid board system where applicable 13. Removable waterproof liners also provided
