Rev'it Poseidon 2 Gore-Tex Textile Jacket - Silver / Anthracite

This is an early review as not ridden in anger with it yet but I tried 4 or 5 jackets on in the shop and none were the right fit or as comfortable. The zips work well and easy and taking out the inner jacket is very simple. I may add to this review on my return from Germany in June. Big thanks to the great staff in Leeds

I'm a tall, slim (6'4") rider and most motorcycle brand jackets end up with the sleaves finishing half way up my forearms. However, Rev'it gear seems to fitted very well in the past and upgrading to this jacket didn't disappoint. I went for a medium and the sleeves and body length are perfect. I was initially a little concerned it felt a little loose, particularly with the thermal lining removed, but once the various adjusters were tightened up a little it was a great fit and didn't flap around during riding. I then have the option wear thicker layers in the winter and let the adjusters out.

The huge vents on the chest let in a ton of air, more than required even on a warm spring day. So I have every confidence this will be cool once Summer comes. The sealing and construction also feel like it will keep me dry during a downpour. These are both important factors for me as this suit is intended for long tours in the UK and Europe, so should give me the flexibility for all weathers without having to change jackets or dropliners.

Overall it's a really well finish product and works well with the matching pants. SportsBikeShop were very helpful with trying on the various options I had before deciding on this one.

Got this jacket so as I could ride through the winter and stay warm. I have been out a few times with temp around +4 cent. I ride a naked bike, no screen. First I tried with normal fleece and the jackets thermal liner, ok up to about 30 mph. Then tried a buffa jacket with jackets thermal liner. Good up to about 40 mph. Then went a bought a good down jacket (800 rated) without jackets thermal liner as there was not enough room for it. This was a bit better but still cold at 60 mph. I was cold on the upper arms and the chest. Thought about returning the jacket and getting a Rukka of the same price but then thought I may be asking to much of a jacket in mid winter on an open bike. Going to try a heated jacket this week to see if that improves things. If I am still cold I will be looking to change the jacket for something else. Having now spent loads of cash on heated jacket, and a down jacket and the revit jacket I am feeling a bit left out in the cold. Should have gone for a Rukka but I am not sure that would have worked either. Sportsbikeshop were really good to buy the jacket from, can't fault them spent hours in the shop the trying on load of different jackets and they were very helpful and understanding.

After trying on a few laminated jackets this one was the best fitting for me.
So far it has been warm, comfortable and survived a light rain shower as expected.
