Alpinestars SMX-6 V2 Gore-Tex Boots - Black

My V1 waterproof boot finally gave up and started leaking after 7 years of daily use. So it made sense to replace them with the V2.
I went for the Gortex version as the Drystar wasn't available in my size.
They are waterproof, they are comfortable, but I don't think they are as well built as the V1.
The V2 plastic heal protection is a lot softer than the V1 and deforms easily in comparison.
The zips also seem to be slightly cheaper in quality, but functional.
I have found that water gets under the velcro and sits on the fabric underneath, so it's important to make sure you press it together properly to ensure the stay water tight.
All in all, a good boot, but not as good as the V1.

After my Sidi goretex boots finally fell apart after 15 years of use(5/5!) I shopped around for a replacement pair and after trying lots of makes of boots (and different price) I decided on these Alpinestars.
Good fit after a short breaking in period, comfortable. I have worn them in a couple of heavy showers and no leaks! These look like a race boot as opposed to touring boots which I prefer but without the hassle of "inner boots" which is better for every day riding. Good price, no complaints 5/5!

Bought as a replacement of my older waterproof pair. They are very warm, comfortable and nice to ride in. They do need breaking in, but regardless are comfortable. Good improvement of protection around the ankles. Not used in torrential rain, however so far have been waterproof. Reasonably priced also. Do recommend these

This is the second pair of these boots I have purchased, for everyday summer riding these are very good. Not really winter boots so shower proof will do which these are. Recommended if this is what you want, great delivery from SBS.

Yet to find a pair of waterproof boots that SBS sells as purchased about 10 pairs now and none are waterproof.

I've had these boots for over a year and they are great. They fit me like a pair of slippers. I ride to work in these and keep them on in the office for over 8 hours and still feel comfortable when I get home. They've stayed completely water proof and believe me I've tested them, I live in Scotland. Not cheap but I would highly recommend these if you want a boot which you can rely on for years.

Reasonably priced for the quality, very light, comfortable from the word go (need a bit of breaking in but usable straight away), seem warm. Strangely enough it hasn't rained yet, assuming they prove to be waterproof then I thoroughly recommend.

So far so good. Very comfortable. So far they are waterproof but early days. Had Richa boots previously and they were not waterproof after a few months, so avoid them and buy these.

Had SMX 5's previously which lasted very well. These seem a good quality product and breath well being goretex. Early days but tested 100% waterproof so far.

Quality boots that look the part too. I would definitely recommend.

These are my second pair of bike boots. I was recommended them by a friend who has Alpinestars boots.

From the moment I put them on they fitted like a glove. I bought a half size bigger than my normal shoe

They are comfortable and didn't need any bending to make them wearable.

They are very well made and I expect they will last me for years.

All in all they are a fantastic boot and worth every penny. I am so glad I bought them.

Size 48 felt a bit tight, but that is because they were brand new. Once they are worn in, these boots are seriously comfortable.

These boots are amazing, I am a slim build women and the fit is just perfect! I also cannot recommend sports bike shop enough, their customer service is excellent.

Size 47 is 11.5UK but I'm definitely a size 12. The 47s got bought before I could place my order so took a punt the 48s. Glad I did. Found I've had to go up one or two sizes with Alpinestars as I'm a tall bloke. Good comfortable boots like slippers. Shame there's no toe sliders but very easy to walk in. Not been in the rain yet. Recommend!
