Verified Customer Reviews for Oxford Lifetime P50R Panniers
Customers appreciate the quality and spaciousness of these panniers, with multiple reviews praising their secure fit and robust material. Most customers found them tricky to install, especially inserting the reinforcing strips, but agree that the effort pays off in the end. They fit various bike models well and often come with handy waterproof liners. However, some suggest modifications to straps for easier removal. Overall, they are considered excellent value for money and highly recommended.
Perfect fit for my bike plenty of space per bag and lots of clearance to the back tyre
These panniers look perfect on my Suzuki GSX s1000gt light, well made and importantly don't stick out to hinder filtering...
Got these for my KTM SAS. A faff to fit and avoid high exhaust etc but way cheaper than hard luggage. They come with water proof innner bags but be careful as they are larger than the panniers and a different shape. You can fill them up then find your stuff won't fit in the panniers. The panniers do expand slightly width ways. The material is tough and well constructed but one of the main zips jammed after a week so SBS replaced them.
Robust and well made. Personally I had little difficulty in fitting the inserts, got it done in a couple of minutes, so I'd say there is no need to cut them down to size. The main velcro straps are good but the smaller ones can be a bit of a faff - OK if you are fitting them around something like a footpeg, not so easy if you need to run them through something like a hanger. I'm replacing them with ratchet type straps that will make fitting/removal so much easier. Overall I'm very impressed with these, and they look the part too.
Quality brilliant.
Use waterproof bags as suitcases.
After googling the hell out of which panniers to fit to CBR1000RR I settled on Oxford. Guaranteed quality at good price especially at Sportsbikeshop.co.uk. Enough straps to make it very secure. It sits a little forward due to tail tidy but does not impede the rider. Get some bungees to make it extra secure. Good looking product, 50 litres capacity and doesn't protrude to the sides too much. Waterproof inner bag rather than the outer, which probably keeps price down Brilliant, very pleased
Bought for my old Honda hornet and I'm really impressed with these. A little fiddly getting the hard liner inside, and when you see the length of them when you first open the packaging it's easy to think they'll never go in. But they do with abit of effort. The same goes for putting them on the bike, but spend some time getting all the straps right and they're solid once on. Would recommend!
No problems to fit, easy to fit the base board, waterproof inner is no problem, all in all a great product.
I bought these to replace some 2nd hand oxford panniers I had as a treat to myself.
They are really easy to fit and sit well on my 2000 suzuki bandit.
We're going on a road trip so needed a set of bags to hold a few days worth of stuff. These are great as they expand using the side zip without looking to bulky. They have a hard insert for the bottom to keep everything in shape and multiple secure points to make sure they're not going to move around. They fit my z650rs perfectly so looking forward to using them.
Good size for me no problems fitting the insert in the panniers
Really high quality panniers with plenty of room for everything you need for a few days away. Loved the removable waterproof inner liners which are removeable and allow you to leave the panniers on the bike. Really easy to fix to the bike with lots of fixing point options. 10/10
Picked these panniers as they look better on my bike than the back box. And they add more protection if required
THEY ARE FIDDLY TO FIT BUT VERY STABLE WHEN DONE. CAPACITY AND QUALITY ARE IDEAL FOR TOURING ON A STREET BIKE. THE LARGE OPENINGS AND REMOVABLE WATERPROOF LINERS MEAN THE PANNIERS CAN STAY ON THE BIKE.
Well these are universal and a bugger to fit properly but am hoping they'll stay attached around Europe. They are quite decent once you get the stiffeners in, I had to cut around 7mm off the width and 50mm off the length to get them in. Great service by SBS, as usual,
Really useful bags..great fit and can hold a lot of gear.
Didn't use the small straps that come with it as they aren't very good for tightening and a bit dangly but replaced with bungees to secure to frame.
Absolutely solid..tested on 300 mile trip. Bags kept their shape, great colour matched bike.. I have a CBR Honda Blackbird.
As always great service from Sportsbikeshop would definitely recommend.
They arrived next day in less than 24 hours from ordering. The bags were flat packed & required the insertion of reinforcing strips in the base. These strips were oversize & required cutting and the sharp corners rounded to fit into the zipped pocket which still proved to be awkward. The actual fitting to my HondaCB500X was problematical due to the protruding pillion grab handles on the top box rack but the bags remained in position on a test ride. The product seems to be well made and good value at the discounted Sportsbikeshop price.
I've always used rucksacks but have been thinking about soft panniers for a wee while now. A recent issue of RiDE ran a grouptest and these came out top.
I happened to be browsing Sportsbikeshop and saw these were reduced to £120 (from £200!) so the timing was right!
They fit my ZX12 really well and the bottom is well away from the exhaust. They're nice and secure although I did make a bracket up to secure the rear straps somewhere. I'd almost be tempted to use them without the rear straps as they almost seem secure enough with the front ones but, you know, belt & braces etc etc.
The only real issue is the shape. I use a 40+ litre rucksack and these are 50 litres in total but because they're 25+25, they're not quite suited to the big A4 lever arch folders I sometimes carry in the rucksack. This is a very minor issue in reality though.
One big top is to persevere when fitting the plastic strengthening piece inside the bottom of them. Yes, they will fit. No, you don't need to cut them down at all. I used the same method as I do with a Pinlock, get one end in, get the other end in and then work the rest in VERY gradually! There's a lot of pulling and quite a bit of swearing but they will go in. I've found them to be showerproof without using the drybags but if the sky is black then the drybags gets used!

Questions and Answers
Can you please provide more information for these pannier bags? Kindly indicate method of fitment to bike & confirm bag volume - I presume 25ltr each. Also can be fitted to BMW 1200gs lc? Any notes on security? Thanks
April 1, 2019The dimensions for the P50R panniers are H/10" L/18" W/9". Although the Oxford Lifetime P50R Panniers are universal for the majority of motorcycles,we can not specify an exact model fit. The panniers attach together using six integral Velcro straps. The two opposing central straps should be fastened together securely and mounted together underneath the seat of the motorcycle. The four remaining straps should be fastened securely and mounted over (or under) the seat to allow the best fit for your particular motorcycle. The minimum Velcro overlap (contact patch) should be 15cm. The straps should then be adjusted so that the panniers sit tight against the side of the motorcycle and do not sag. If the Velcro straps are too long they can be cut down with a pair of scissors. However, ensure the minimum contact patch is still achieved. The 4 adjustable straps may then be used to hold the panniers firmly in place by attaching them to an appropriate secure part of the motorcycle, such as dedicated luggage hooks or footrests but not to the indicators! These should then be tensioned to prevent the panniers moving. Use bungees (sold separately) to secure any remaining attachment points on the bags to an appropriate part of the motorcycle, if necessary. The panniers must not be free to move as this may a). cause an unsafe riding situation b). cause paintwork to be damaged c). allow the panniers to touch the exhaust and burn. It is the owner s responsibility to ensure that the luggage is attached in such a way that it does not damage or put at risk the owner or any property of the owner. The panniers should always be loaded evenly. The panniers are provided with a semi-rigid board system (excluding OL434). These should be inserted into the zipped pouches provided to maintain the bags shape. Also provided are rain covers or waterproof liners.
