Alpinestars S-MX Plus Boots - Black

Excellent boots. Really like protection around the ankles and the padding on the gear shift boot is better, doesn't feel like it's rubbing against your foot when changing gear and are very comfortable.

I had a few questions before I bought my boyfriend boots for his bike. The e-mails were quick, friendly and helpful. He also loves the boots, he says they are great quality for a lower price than other sites. Would recommend this site to anyone.

Great boats with safely in mind. The fit is great (although I had to go a size up) and the 3 fittings (laces, zip and ratchet lock) make sure they fit correctly. As they're white I would recommend treating with protector.
My only slight concern is how long the ratchet lock will last as the plastic is a little flimsy.

Build quality and materials are excellent. I have quite a wide foot so a little tight but will no doubt loosen over time. Simple to put on. Replaceable toe slider (via screw). Slight confusion over sizing as my old pair are a 44 whereas these suggest a 44 / UK9 but I am a 10 and these fit OK.

The first thing that strikes me about these is the quality and finish, it really is very good. The zippers, locks and Velcro are all very strong and it seems they will last a long time through most conditions. They look and feel solid and aspire much confidence when in a spirited ride.

They are slowly starting to open up and that annoying squeak resonating from my left peg is now fading. I've paired these with the AS Missile Leather pants and they compliment each other in both style and fit very well. I can see these hanging around for many years to come.

In summary: Solid, easy on and off and very pleasing on the eye too.

Superb boots. The comfiest footwear I have ever had on and these things are just loaded with protection. Can't give a good enough review about SBS customer service also. They make exchanges super easy. Great product from a great company and great service from SBS.

Bought these boots to replace a 10 year old, 30000 mile worn pair of SMX Plus, which in fairness still have a little life left in them. I tried a pair of Sidi ST Air to start with, but they were very uncomfortable and had a horrible lining. These were returned to SBS and I ordered these - a million times better.

Sizing is a little on the small side - I sized up to an 8, where I wear 7 in most other stuff including my Daytona's.

As some have mentioned, the clasp mechanism is not as robust as the old pair, but I'm sure will still last.

Feel light but sturdy and very comfortable and secure on the feet.

Really happy with the shoes. I've tried them in a store before so I knew the size but the deliver was fast and everything went smooth! And the price difference if I had bought this in my country would've been £150.

This is my second pair of S-MX Plus in about 10 years. The originals were amazingly comfortable and very well made, apart from the hideous squeak from the ankle hinges! These new boots have evolved in terms of style and looks, but are narrower than the previous model. So far they feel a little cramped but may ease up over time. Only concern I have is that the ratchet strap is much flimsier that the old model and this seems a backward step and may need replacing sooner than reasonable.

Like several other reviewers these are my second pair, the first pair lasting me for nearly 10 years. I agree that they are lighter than the previous ones but that they do not feel as good quality. That being said, they are still a great pair of boots, very good looking and feel like slippers when put on. Great service from SBS too.

My second pair of Alpinestar SMX boots. Good fit and can be adjusted well and in more places than my old boots which have lasted since 2000. They also look better and are lighter than my older boots. This zip and plastic ratchet strap tighten at the top of the boot feel of less good quality t5han I would have expected. Time will tell if that is the case or not.

Generally happy with the boots though. Great service as always from the team at Sportsbikeshop.

I'm a size 9 and have relatively wide feet. I bought this boot and in size 43 and it fits spot on!

Brilliant pair of boots! They have a liner in the bottom of the boot so they fit perfectly, then that laces up like a trainer with a pull cord which Velcros onto the flap then the flap closes with a push to lock fitting meaning it's all enclosed. They look awesome on and as soon as I opened the box I knew I had made the right choice. Feel great, look great and one of the top brands so should perform great if ever the worst happens.
