I really like the silkolene chain lube so I bought this chain cleaner to match. It works well but takes a lot to shift the dirt. i give this cleaner an average score as Im sure other products may work faster butIi like to match brands when using chemicals to clean and protect. My bike OCD prefers it that way!

Other chain cleaners, I spray and you can physically see the dirt dripping off the chain, this doesn't, still cleans the chain with a good spray and wipe.

To be honest with you this isn't a very good chain cleaner I've had others which are better it takes a awful lot of effort to get the chain lube off I wasn't very impressed with it so I won't be buying this one again

Clean as a whistle

Silkolene products are the ones in which I have the most faith when it comes to liquids. This one easily cleaned off 250 miles of gunk and grime from my chain and sprockets, leaving things ready for a fresh spray of lube. It's best to use a good brush to give things a proper scrub for the more stubborn grit, but 90% of the work seemed to have been done just with the cleaner itself.

Mean and clean

Very strong chemical that even pushes the thick chain gunk out the way even with the pressure of the spraying action. Does seem to need some manual agitation with a brush if you don't want to run it too quickly though.
Didn't get to test it as much on the brake pads since mine are relatively new and clean at the moment.
