Shark Spartan RS - Shaytan Matt Black / Anthracite / Silver

The helmet is excellent, well finished and looks great. Great to know it complies with the latest safety standards. It fits nicely and it is really quiet. Easy to wear it with glasses. The sun visor covers the whole view and is very easy to operate with a slider on top. Great feature. . The potential downside is the new locking system on the visor, as it is not very easy to operate with bulky gloves in the winter.

Brilliant helmet comfy on first ride, highly recommend

This was replacement for my dreadful shoei neotec 2 that gave me unbearable pain in both ears. I have since met 4 people who had a similar experience. Thank you Shark for an outstanding helmet, quiet (with shield down), very comfy and with attractive colours to boot. The original cheek pads were a little thin for my liking. However, after a phone call, a new pair were sent the next day. As usual, SBS, you are truly the best. Why would anyone want to go anywhere else, given the high quality service you provide. It's a given that this helmet fits well, no point buying one that doesn't. I did need to buy slightly smaller cheek pads to get a good fit, still snug. I came from an Arai Axces and the most noticeable thing is how well the mechanisms and catches work whereas on the Arai those things seem like afterthoughts and vague operation that often left me fumbling and worrying about breaking it. The visor on the Shark has a ratchet mechanism for opening to stages and then a reassuring clunk when shut, then press the button to open. Removing and refitting the visor is a case of lining up two dots, twist a lever each side and then pull the visor out, refitting is just as easy. The visor has a similar feel to the visor, but no lock.

I have had a number of Shark helmets over the years. They are steadily getting better and this is the best by far.
1. Its very quiet with the visor closed, not so good when fully open it whistles.
2. The visor lock is good and with a little practice its easy to open with a gloved hand. There is a fine racket on the main visor the stiffness of which is adjustable.if you dont lock the visor down you get usable extra ventalation.
3. The internal sun visor is much easier to slide into place, this also has a rachet so you can set it where you need it.
4. My Sena 20s speakers fitted nicely into the pre-formed recesses in the helmet shell liner, and were very comfortable.
5. The previously adjustable chin wind guard is now elastic and helps keep the noise down. I may remove it for the summer to get more air in the helmet.
6. Ventilation, the front vent does direct the air at the visor which comes with an easy to fit Pinlock. There is a top vent and plenty of exhaust vents. I find I leave the visor open slightly to get more air on my face. The breath shield is removable but I leave it be.
7. Helmet, I love the shiny gloss finish its very easy to clean. Internal liners are easy to remove and wash. The helmet is snug quiet and does not feel heavy on my neck. The vision is better than previously and the quality of the visor is excellent. Fastening is double D ring and not too fiddley.
Of course there is no such thing as a perfect helmet. I would like more airflow to my face from the front vent but the adjustability of the visor compensates. I had the Spartan Carbon previously which I dropped hence the replacement. I dont notice the extra weight and this is definately an up grade on the old one from 4 years ago.

This is an excellent helmet that complies with the latest safety guidelines. It fits snuggly and you can feel the padding is in contact with your skull all over without giving you a headache. It's light and very quiet and wind noise is minimal compared to others I have tried. The sun visor has full coverage and is very easy to operate with a slider on top of the helmet. There's also no lift at high speed whatsoever. The velvet liner on the padding is also brilliant. The main let down for me is the new lock system on the visor. So far I haven't managed to unlock it whilst on my head even without gloves! I'm not looking forward to winter time when I would need to unlock it with heavily padded gloves. This is extremely annoying. The other minor gripe is the double D locks especially with the thick and stiff strap. I just hope the strap will soften a bit with usage. There are other lock systems available that are as safe which Shark could have used. The main benefit of other lock systems is the fact that the length can be adjusted once without the need to do so every time you put the helmet on.

Having had an MT helmet previously this is really in a different level. Exceptionally comfortable, brilliant noise protection and the finish is top quality. I have to also give credit to sportsbikeshop who were exceptional in sorting out a delivery hiccup!

Just brought the shark spartan rs straight away fantastic fit really comfortable great removable liners and padding fantastic visor with pin lock in the box double D ring strap I prefer D rings more secure and great venting system keeping face and head cool on warm days. I chose the matt black and red colour helmet and the shop fitted my intercom at no extra cost so far really happy with everything, probably best helmet to date. My last helmet was Shoei gt Air and shark have matched it at half the price, very happy biker

Great fitting helmet, very snug, sun visor gives full coverage and so easy to fit intercom. Visor lock reassuring but fit fiddly to get used to with winter gloves. Not as quiet as I'd hoped but no worse than others, would definitely buy again

Probably the best helmet I've bought, I was looking at Arai but decided to stop saving and buy the Shark Spartan RS. I've not worn it too much yet but was impressed when I unboxed it and was even more impressed when I wore it on the road.
I'm 59-60 and this (size L) fits me perfectly, the liner is good quality, the venting works, the glasses channel is perfect (no pressure from my glasses under the helmet) & the visor (with pinlock) gives wide vision and also feels like a quality item (substantial but not too thick/heavy). It's much quieter than any helmet I've bought over the last 15+ years. I like the looks of course this is subjective, however it looks and feels well finished with quality parts for just under £300. My last Shark lasted 4 years, could have been more but for an accident, and this one looks like it will go the distance too.

I have always had Nolan or HJC lids, as never really found other makes suited my head.
To be honest the first time I have had or worn a Shark helmet and I am really impressed.
My only gripe is its too quiet, for some one who likes to hear the engine notes.

Really comfy helmet from the off, love the drop down sun visor. This is my sixth shark helmet over the years, and they just get better every time, just small improvements. Also like the strap retention clip, easy to use, and stops strap flapping around under your chin.

Quality finish great features, the visor mechanisms are the best I've used. Quiet and comfortable. Latest safety standard and very good price. Only the 2 shell sizes let's it down.
