HJC C10 - Fabio Quartararo 20 MC1SF

The HJC C10 fits me nicely.
It is amazingly quiet. Not heavy. Excellent vision through a broad visor. And an attractive price.

Arrived quickly, excellent helmet.

Bought it to replace another one, much more comfortable, would recommend!

I've downgraded from shoei nxr as had some issue with the ear sometimes, had to buy something cheap quickly and this one was the one I chose.
Very happy, does everything very well, you can get a photochronic pinlock, I got.one and.. it works but I'd prefer it to tint much more. At least I don't need sunglasses though
I had a fault, one of the pinlock mounts snapped from the visor, rectified under warranty

So having a budget of £200 and trying about 10-15 helmets I chose this one. There's plenty of colours, I'm thinking of getting another one for my other bike

I bought this online and the sizing chart worked fine. The helmet is great and I refer you to Harry's review of July 2 2023 for in depth details, though he was wrong about the lining, it is fully removable. I like the stiffness of the visor as my last helmet wouldn't stay part open in any wind pressure. It's slightly heavier than my previous helmet but no problems at all with my neck. Overall a great helmet for the price and SportsbikeShop lived up to their price match promise with mine, so it was a bargain!

Ordered the HJC C10 full face helmet and also the dark visor from Sportsbikeshop.co.uk and the helmet arrived within a couple of days.
I couldn't be happier with the quality and fitment of the helmet but also the easy ordering process and fast delivery time.

I was looking for a new helmet to replace my old HJC and came across a review on 'fortnine'.
Decided to try the HJC C10.
Was not disappointed.
Great fit , very quiet and most importantly …. Safe
The graphics , build quality etc are also spot on.

Nice helmet, fits well as I am usually a medium and got size M.
Excellent finish and I love the bright yellow. Interior very comfy and it doesn't mess your hairs at all.
Quieter than my previous helmet, good ventilation.
Lack of D-ring means I have to carry the helmet around with me or lock the buckle while closing my Vespa seat like in the 90s and it hangs there. I really cannot complain for the price and I would definitely recommend it!

5 stars considering the price point. I was positively surprised with the build quality and finish. The fit is also excellent. Good air flow. Visor accommodates a pinlock, which would be nice if it were included, but understandable give sub-£100 price. No sun shield.

My wife was looking for a new flip up helmet in size 2XS….53cm. Having tried a few (thank you very much SBS for your service in this respect) they were all over large through having a limited number of shell sizes.
We changed direction and then went for the full face HJC C10. The helmet impressed us in terms of its quality and safety rating. It comes in three shell sizes and the 2XS as you would expect uses the smallest shell size. The helmet is very comfortable and is in proportion to the wearers head size as opposed to being a larger helmet with thicker padding.
Definitely recommended.

The 1st time I used it, it was a chilly 5 degrees and the visor misted badly. A pinlock is my next purchase. On the whole very good value for money I would buy again. Last point the delivery from sportsbikeshop was super fast thanks chaps

The HJC C10 is an excellent entry level full face helmet.

It's certified to the new ECE 22.06 standard. This means it should be safer than helmets rated to the old ECE 22.05 standard, which are now being phased out.

It costs just over £80 for the matte black version. At the time of writing this review, it is currently only one of two ECE 22.06 helmets available for under £100. In my opinion, if you are buying a new helmet in 2023, you might as well get an ECE 22.06 rated one, now that they are available.

This is my initial review of the helmet, after going on a few rides wearing it.

Positives:

- Well constructed and "feels" more expensive than it is.

- It fits nicely and true to size (fit is subjective though, and people have different head shapes. Always try a helmet on first).

- Big, wide eyeport and visor gives great visibility on the road and when checking over your shoulder.

- Simple but robust ratchet fastening to secure it to your head.

- It's really quick and easy to remove the visor.

- The visor can ratchet through several different open positions. It can be left slightly cracked open to help with fogging up.

- It even comes with a gold sticker on the back, which apparently means you can use it on a racetrack.

Negatives:

- The visor is a bit stiff to open and close.

- The lining isn't fully removable, only the chin covering and cheek pads can be removed. The lining/cheek pads aren't anything fancy, but they also aren't uncomfortable.

- The included helmet "bag" is pathetic.

- No pinlock insert included, but the visor is prepared to accept one.

- It has three ventilation ports, but I'm not really sure how effective they are.

- It's slightly on the heavier side, but I don't think this is a problem. I did notice a bit of pain at the back of my neck when riding, but that could just be my poor posture...!

- No drop down sun visor.

Note: I haven't tried it in the rain.

To summarise:

If you need a new helmet on a budget, or just want a spare/pillion helmet, you could do far worse than the HJC C10.

Remember, the safest helmet is the one that fits you properly!
