Oxford Sport Exhaust Heat Shield

I've just fitted an Oxford Sport Exhaust Heat Shield to my BSA Gold Star 650, as I'd experienced a well documented "melting trouser / boot" issues caused by the proximity of the exhaust to the right foot peg. In summary - a well manufactured and stylish product [suits the Gold Star's aesthetics], a great price compared to the OE option, good packaging and easy enough fitting instructions [there are also online videos!]. I've never had a poor Oxford product and this exhaust shield is no exception. Highly recommended!

Having burnt a hole in my textile trousers on the day I took my BSA 650 Goldstar home from the dealer I needed to do something otherwise putting my right foot down was going to be costly. The exhaust is very close to the right foot peg and is more exposed than my other bikes. I purchased the Oxford heat shield and was concerned that the clips supplied would not be big enough to fit the BSA silencer. In the end it just about fit. The rear clip is at its maximum size and allows for the shield to be in the right place to prevent damage to trouser leg. The front clip is fine. When in place the shield is sympathetic to the style of the bike and seems to be cooler than the exhaust so hopefully no more holes.
