Disappointing and Expensive
13 November 2024 by Alex R
Unfortunately one of the worst but yet most expensive helmets I've had.
When compared against an Arab Quantic and LS2 Advant X, the material quality doesn't feel close to either, given that the name implies good airflow, it really doesn't. Riding with the sun shield down at slow speeds is a no go, with all vents open it constantly steams up. Opening or closing the vents doesn't make any noticeable difference making summer somewhat unbearable.
Comfort out of the box was not great, again the contact materials feel somewhat average. Even after the Personal Fitting Service the fit and comfort was still some way off of the Arai out of the box.
The visor mechanism is horrendous, after a few weeks from new it would no longer lock down, adjusted by a Shoei dealership which fixed the issue for 3 weeks before returning. As of writing the helmet is on its way back to Shoei for repair (not hopeful)

Great Helmet, but Watch the Sizing
12 September 2024 by Issy
I had the GT Air 2 in a size small, which was a perfect fit. However, I found the GT Air 3 to be significantly tighter, and the chinstrap was not very adjustable. Overall, it's a great helmet, but be mindful of the sizing.

Shoei GT Air 3

Not all they're made out to be. Speaker system that I purchased very expensive. AGV k5 lighter and less wind noise. Sorry SHOEI ..

Fits well
28 June 2024 by Andy B
I did have an Arai but after 20 years it was starting to feel like it was going to blow off. Changed to this Shoei which fits well and has some great features like the sun shield. I knocked a star off because I can't fit my Cardo Pak talk using the clip and will have to stick the mount to the helmet. Also chin strap digs in a little but perhaps I need to get used to the ratchet.

Great Helmet
28 June 2024 by Matthew E
Very comfortable which is to be expected with Shoei. Finish also excellent. The visor is noticeably stiffer than others I've had but not overly so.
The ratchet is quick and easy once adjusted using the buckle on the opposite side for setting the size.
Ventilation through the helmet is excellent, it's summer at the time of writing so haven't got the chin curtain in. A lot of manufacturers get the first visor notch totally wrong but Shoei get it just right with about 5mm.
An excellent helmet, premium quality, latest safety standard but unfortunately you pay for it.

A better version of the original.
22 June 2024 by Michael H
I have been using the GT-Air 1 for a number of years now and have always been happy with it, but 2 versions on and small changes make big differences- the comfort and visibility are better along with good ventilation and the newer ratchet chinstrap, a great helmet and worth the price in my opinion.

Great helmet
08 June 2024 by Andrew K
After having the original GT Air I thought I'd upgrade to the three. Great field of view from it , built in sun visor operates easily and wind noise is very low. I did have to fit the chin guard to stop the air buffeting underneath but perfect once fitted. Look forward to installing the Sena Radio to it once purchased in the existing hidden mounts.

Quality
03 June 2024 by Stephen B
Helmet arrived on time and can't fault the finish or fit of the helmet. Little bit of wind noise and you have to keep the visor shut as when it's even slightly open you get a lot of noise when doing your lifesaver. Would recommend sportsbike shop and even with the price promise I couldn't find the helmet cheaper elsewhere.

Excellent service
22 May 2024 by Simon L
As usual great service from SBS, after a lot of research and trying on of various lids took the plunge and went for this, not disappointed, arrived packed really well, instructions clear on how to assemble the visor and included pin lock which are a bit tight and you need to be brave and firm but all good, breath guard is a doddle to fit chin deflector does seem a little flimsy, but after now two weeks of use no problems, helmet is very comfortable and a lot quieter than my previous AGV, I bought the Sena kit to go with it, quite a lot to spend all on one go but well worth it, fitting a little fiddly but watching the you tube instructions definitely helped and all went together seamlessly, would definitely recommend this Shoei if it fits your head shape 100% a great sports touring helmet if not the best

GT air
21 May 2024 by Paul W
Fantastic helmet, wore for the first time yesterday, much better fit than my old GT air 1
Quiter as well. Visor fastening bit awkward at first but by the end of the day it was second nature.
Bought with the Sena at the same time, expensive, but well worth the money.

Quality Product
22 April 2024 by Nigel S
I've previously owned a Shoei, but decided a change was in order. After trying a few helmets through Sportsbikeshop free returns. I found that the Shoei best suited me size wise, even though I'd tried a few different manufacturers mediums, it was only Shoei that fitted just right. I found the helmet to be a nice fit, quiet, with a good visor, it also looks like a quality helmet inside and out. I'd only use Sportsbikeshop from now on, due to their excellent customer service, no quibbling with returns. I've no negative comments on either Sportbikeshop or the Shoei helmet. Expensive maybe, but using the three month interest free payment option helped.

Shoei GT Air 3, The perfect helmet
04 April 2024 by Francis M
Shoei, as per normal, have produced a quality well finished product. I've been a Shoei user for many years (more the "racer type"), this is the most comfortable so far. The sun visor works easily and effectively. The new Shoei chin strap rachet is easy to use and you can adjust for a good fit quickly. Sizing is accurate. The worlds best crash helmet? Very possibly!

Treating myself to a Shoei GT Air 3
24 March 2024 by Andrew
I've been riding bikes for 44 years and never treated myself to a high end helmet before. As soon as I tried the Shoei GT Air 3 on I had to buy it. The comfortable fit and obvious quality sold itself. The Sportsbikeshop in Preston is great, the staff are obviously busy and floating around getting on with their jobs, they are there if you need help and advice but not in your face pushing things on you. Great shop, well done folks. The only thing I miss is Belstaff gear but maybe they have their own stores these days. Excellent store though.

Shoei GT air 3 shoei does it again
28 February 2024 by Craig S
Love the retro colours and I didn't think the fit could get any better but then it did.
Order the size you need as it does not come up small or big.

GT Air3
29 January 2024 by Barrie G
Great helmet, good fit, quality padding. Bit disappointed when installing the srl3 comms that there aren't more pre cut channels for the cables - you just have to shove them behind the padding which is a bit poor for premium products

First class fit & Finish
18 January 2024 by Craig S
Paint and finish are really first class. I noticed another review comment ref chinstrap adjustment, there is actually more than enough you just have to adjust the main strap correctly it comes in the tightest position, which was a little fiddly but perfect now. I am a size L, fit is first class, I take an XL in the NXR though which is interesting. I wear glasses and cant quite get my glasses to go round my ears with this helmet but they do sit and hold secure. Helmet seems much quieter than my old NXR but is slightly heavier.
Inserts for breath deflector fits really well as you would expect for this kind of money. Has built in fit for intercoms etc which I'm unlikely to use as I don't like distractions when riding. Final note paint scheme goes lovely with my S1000RR !!
