Good quality side pods, looked on internet could not find what I wanted, went to local sportsbikeshop and they were very helpful in making the decision on ordering the clear side pods with a slight smoke effect perfect for my helmet, highly recommend the sports bike shop very helpful and the product is first class quality

Lets face it ARAI make great fitting helmets, but fitting an removing visors can be an issue. You can watch as many videos as you like but its hard to understand whats going on. The result can be broken side pods, and at up to £28 a go that's an expensive mistake. These smoked side pods look good and allow you to see how the visor mechanism works, allowing you to fit it right first time every time. Yes they are not colour matched to the helmet design, but the smoke finish is a neutral choice and blends in with most designs.

The pods fit but the smoked panels show up the inner workings whereas the original panels didn't being darker. The panels were very hard to fit

I've got an old Arai Astro R (yes I know I should replace it!) and when I removed the side pods I broke both the retaining lugs, a common problem I think. These Smoked ones are so much easier as you can see the mechanism clearly which really helps putting them in place as well as the visor. SportsbikeShop were fantastic on delivery as usual. Highly recommend the product and SportsbikeShop

Normal fast delivery from SBS knocked my lid on a door must have been the visor as the pod top clip broke. The clear side pods are so much easier to fit and remove the visor and clean. Used a magnum lolly stick to pop off the old ones and fit new ones. Look good as well. Can't fault the product. Will be getting more for my other Arai kids

The whole mechanism of the side pods and visor retention on the Arai helmet is, quite frankly, a fiddly mess. These partly clear (translucent) side pods allow you to see what's going on when fitting them and also changing/fitting the visor. I wouldn't buy the solid coloured ones again. Quite expensive for two bits of plastic.

Quality product that is a life saver. I like I being able to see the internal mechanism etc. As with any fixing worth having a look over the side pod and helmet to double check how it clips on. Worth reading over the instructions and using the Arai pod removal / install tool (with I think I had when I bought the helmet).

Difficult to fit

The product seems very solid and the smoke color probably fits any helmet. Though I had a lot of trouble attaching the right pod to the helmet. I didn't have any trouble attaching the left pod but the right pod didn't seem the right dimensions. After some violence I am glad I managed to attach it after all.

Replacement side pods OK

I bought these for my Doohan Astro R as the Doohan ones are no longer available. They match the Arai smoked visor perfectly. One side went on easily, the other was a fiddle. It's just a shame Arai didn't make a better visor changing mechanism in the first place. Then there wouldn't be a need for replacement side pods. Over all this is a good quality products and recommend.

April 9, 2019The signet was discontinued in 2007, and so we are not able to advise, apologies. They should fit, but you may also need to change the base plates.
