I don't leave many reviews, but this is a brilliant bit of kit. Easy to fit, small when it is zipped down and expands to more than double the size. Great for day rides and would do an overnighter no problem.
Easy to fit under the seat, just the job
A neat bag that looks really tidy on the bike and swallows up all the little necessities you need but don't want to carry in a backpack. Took minutes to fit and offers a choice of ways to attach to the bike.
I bought this for a couple of overnighters.
The expansion is useful and I managed to get inside the included waterproof bag, an Oxford HD chain, tightly rolled waterproofs (top & bottoms), wash kit, undergarments and t-shirt.
Mesh pocket in the lid is great for keys etc.
I managed to secure it to the ridiculously small 'house brick' of a pillion seat on my 2021 Z900 without very little or no intrusion at my lower back.
The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because when securing it for the journey with the included straps the stitching came undone on the built in canvas loop which went around the indicator, and I had to go back in the house and and sew it securely by hand.
This happened on some Oxford straps and I suspect the straps are made in the same factory out East to a horrific budget where no quality control exists.
How about a bit less budget on marketing and more on quality manufacturing?
The Ion S tail bag is exactly what I was looking for, small enough that it is inconspicuous, while being big enough to carry locks etc. and then expands to allow the carrying of small shopping trips without the need to wear a rucksack. It is well made and appears to be robust.
Perfect size for a Tail bag, well made and versatile. Can be easily expanded. Can't fault it.
Overall the bag is well made. Being able to expand is very useful. Also there is a very handy waterproof pocket on the top.

Ideal for small and sporty bikes, the volume of the Ion S tail bag can be expanded via zip from 7 to 15 litres and therefore offers enough storage for drinks, a change of clothes, and other necessities for day trips and short rides. The compact bag can be lashed onto riveted D-rings with the included loop straps. Two straps with hook-and-loop closure, along with a slot on the underside, enable fast and secure attachment to a seat or rack. Reinforced sides, a padded lid and cinch straps guarantee a stable, secure fit even when you're riding at speed. Things stowed in the outer pocket or mesh compartment in the inside of the lid are particularly close at hand. A carrying handle makes the Ion S tail bag a practical travel companion even away from the street.
Made from black 600D polyester with elements of soft vinyl, the tail bag combines an attractive design with roadworthy features like optimized storage, non-slip underside, lockable main compartment zip and a waterproof inner bag. The reflecting textile welts are barely visible in the light of day, but in the dark the visibility is greatly increased.
