Denali Crashbar Light Mounts

Bought together with Denali 2.0 DMs (the smallest of the range) and Denali yellow filters. Denali products do not come cheap, but I have to say I'm well pleased with the spots and filters. Not so with these overpriced brackets! The actual brackets are well made coated black aluminium, but they are one size fits all! The bracket consists of 2 semi circular halves which bolt together to form a collar, and support a mounting arm. I chose not to use the mounting arm due to the shape of my bars and bike. A configuration which the instructions specifically catered for. Two dome head bolts were supplied for the purpose of using the collar by itself bolting the lights directly. The problem being that someone in Denali R&D didn't check that these bolts would actually fit their DM spot. They don't! They're simply too large to fit their own supplied spot bracket. I had to misuse another supplied bolt that was too long for that purpose, which necessitated me using spacers, which I happened to have. Although my work round did work, my silver spacers were glaringly obvious. I was about to start cutting and painting, when it struck me, 'Why should I?'. All manufacturer's parts, fitted as per instructions costing £80 odd?
Bottom line, if your buying these expensive brackets for probably any of the other spots in their range, go for it, if you feel they're worth the price. If for the Denali DMs get different brackets from another maker, as I'm now going to have to.

To be fair, 2 stars is harsh if you're buying for the larger spots, but I wasn't.

If there is some note somewhere in the Denali bumf, or I've missed a Sportsbikeshop warning that these brackets may not be suitable for DM spots, I will apologise and eat humble pie, but I haven't seen it!
