Fantastic service from Sportsbikeshop to deliver this excellent helmet. Price is exceptional and the spec outstanding. I have Shoei,HGV,HJC and Bell helmets and this is the most comfortable

Excellent flip up ADV helmet
15 July 2024 by Brian T
Bought this helmet to replace my Caberg Duke II. I like the Caberg helmets as they are easy to put on, comfortable and at a very good price point.
The Tourmax has a peak, which is a great bonus riding into the sun and helps keep glare off the visor.
Really pleased with this, and found it relatively easy to attach the pinsert and to install my Cardo headset.

Great versatile helmet
31 May 2024 by Fred H
I got this helmet as a second helmet to use during the summer as I wanted a flip-up helmet with a sun-shield and built in dark-visor.
This seems to be the ONLY helmet that has all three of these features.
The build-in dark visor is really easy to flip down, both with the helmet open or closed.
The visor itself is anti-scratch, which is great, and is really easy to move up and down.
The helmet can be used with the front wither open or closed and it is great, having always had full-face helmets, to ride with the wind on your face in the warmer weather.
With the flip-front down, it is much closed to my chin than my Shoei helmet and does feel a bit restrictive - maybe I just have a large chin!
The size is good and it fits well.
I've fitted my headset and microphone to the helmet, which is a bit fiddly as the lining isn't as easy to remove as on my Shoei and routing the wires was a bit of a pain. It is a wee bit noisier that my Shoei as well, but not too bad.
The weight is good overall. With the flip-front open, you do notice a bit of weight bias to the front, but it isn't too bad (although it does look a bit wierd riding with it open).
At higher motorway speeds, the sun-shield does vibrate a bit, which is annoying, but I think if I just wedge some pieces of foam under the visor near the mounting point it will cure this.
Overall the helmet is a great one for the price!

Light, wind noise at a minimum, easy to install Bluetooth intercom, pin lock excellent, peak is easy to remove separate screws provided for this. Comfy helmet not pressing on cheeks . Flip up is a little stiff at first otherwise excellent value for an excellent helmet

Second Caberg - Good choice
18 December 2023 by Ali
I had a Caberg Duke before this which was decent. Was time to replace though.
Tried a couple of different options and ended up back on Caberg due to fit and attractive price point.
Tourmax X is on a similar quality to the Duke.
It is not the most exciting helmet feature or appearance wise, but has a good safety rating, pinlock included and price point is fantastic.
An amalgamation of all these points make Caberg and this helmet pretty good imho.
I did have a bit of a pain with the pinlock and have had to persevere in adjusting it as it kept shifting and not working properly. Thankfully on this models visor the pinlock pins are the adjustable screw type ones.
Quick youtube video on the correct way to adjust them and I was mist free once more.
Visor vision is good.
Flip mechanism is good and easy to operate.
Taking the visor and peak on and off is a bit of a pain.
Noise level is not the best. Similar to the Duke. I always wear ear plugs when riding anywhere. But even nipping down to the garage with this helmet at 30/40mph for a couple minutes you still need ear plugs or you will have tinnitus.

Decent lid, bit fiddly and noisy
08 May 2023 by Raschid K
Not sure if others have the same problem with the P/J switch not locking the chin guard up. The visor became very noisy after installing pinlock visor and occasionally stops chin from flipping up all the way.
Mine could be doing this as a result of the DPD driver throwing the package over a 6 foot gate, after waiting barley a minute for someone to answer the door.

Good fit, quiet, a few niggles...
07 April 2023 by Richard B
This helmet was a swap - I originally had the Scorpion ADX-2, but when the flip-front was closed, it pinched my temples too much. So, swapped for the Caberg Tourmax X. This helmet fits perfectly, and is very quiet for a flip-front. It comes with a pinlock insert (a god send in the UK!), and can be worn open or full face (there is the lock to keep it open if you want to ride like that). Now the niggles... The sun visor is permanently on show for a few mm, which is a tad annoying as it's visible when weasring the helmet. It doesn't seem to fully retract into the slot. Annoying, not a deal breaker (it comes to roughly (slightly below) where the pinlock insert comes to). The other niggles: The slider for the sun visor is difficult to reach, so make sure you practice this! And the top vent hasn't made any discernible difference whether open or closed - hoping it will in the summer! (but you can always ride with the helmet open if you lock it!). The top-vent open/close mechanism is also quite difficult to find with a gloved hand as it's quite small and very, very near to the back of the peak. Oh, on the peak, a extra cm or 2 would have been useful as I'm not convinced it'll provide any shade from the sunlight. But apart from those niggles, it appears to be a well made helmet, it fits well, and is quiet for a flip-front.
