Light
09 September 2024 by Anna K
Very nice, light helmet. Wide visor for better visibility and so is the built in sun visor.
Haven't tested it in the rain yet but in dry weather it is a very nice helmet. Comfortable inside, especially around the ears area as I had issues with my Caberg pressing too much on my ears.

Well made, good quality
29 August 2024 by Alison L
Excellent product, well made and good quality.
Being a female with a ponytail it's can be quite time consuming putting a helmet off and on so I wanted a flip front to avoid having to remove my helmet in certain situations but didn't want the extra weight. This helmet isn't heavy and is very easy to use, ticks all the boxes.
Only problem I had was with mastering the buckle on the chin strap, it's quite fiddly to start with.
Otherwise I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Replacement helmet.
19 August 2024 by Steve F
Thanks again to SBS. Helpful as always. Requested 4 helmets to try . Had LS2 before so happy with that as has the 180° flip. Feels comfortable. More padding than old one , plus removable, ICE.
Bit fiddly to get old intercom to fit , so I presume the new ride pal is different design.
However helmet is comfortable, easy use flip and vents and if it serves as well as my previous, I will be happy.

Received with several pinhead marks on it and a few light scuff marks! Not enough to send it back but not really happy with it! Wearing it is good as its very comfortable and really quiet! So I kept it!

Really happy with the helmet.came next day fits perfectly. A bit noiser then my agv. A bit of water came down the inside of the visor. Did not know it was not shut properly. Air vents on top work really well. Overall, a good helmet

GOOD VALUE
19 June 2024 by Steve T
Really comfortable fit. Good side vision. No idea about noise as I wear moulded ear plugs.
.
The guys in store were very good and took time to ensure I got the right helmet for me (within my parameters).
This my first LS2 as I usually wear Shoei. I will be using it specifically for 'summer' riding and the the Shoei for Winter use.

Worth the money

Went in store to try this helmet only had advent but ordered 2 sizes and the colour I wanted (white) in the x to try on in store. I have been using a ls2 which was £80, so I had high hopes for this at £300. Yes big difference very comfortable light weight, less noise, does not fog up, has glasses cut and the flip up is brilliant. Came with a cover and a ruck sack, dark visor and pin lock. Highly recommend.

Great Helmet
28 February 2024 by Anonymous
As always a great service from SBS, the helmet is as good as the reviews and really does feel like quality on a par with my Arai helmets, only slight downside is it is slightly noisy but that is to be expected with this type of helmet

Good.

I'm right on the border between L an XL being 60cm. Tried both and L was the better fit. Also tried both the carbon and matt, carbon did feel lighter but its very glossy rather than matt carbon which wasn't for me. Positives: Extremely soft and comfortable to wear lining wise. Love the large visor field of view and shape. Ventilation is brilliant. Really easy to change visors with low cost replacements. Great flip up mechanism with little drag. Negatives: Loud, not overly and not as bad as my Icon Airflite but not exactly quiet. Personally on an aesthetic note would be nice if the LS2 logo was a bit darker, and if the chinbar was not so round shaped, gives the helmet a bit of a bobblehead look. Would be nice if LS2 also offered different color drop down visors. Overall happy and enjoy using this helmet especially the freedom of the modular format.

Top class helmet - tricky to mount stuff on
18 January 2024 by Martin C
Overall this is an excellent helmet. Compared to my previous RPHA 70, it feels roughly the same weight, is every bit as comfortable but seems to be a little better at ventilating the visor.
The weird visor opening takes some getting used to (hold at the top), but it will happily sit slightly cracked open (the HJC wouldn't).
The only real issue has been fitting my packtalk and drift camera. There are limited options due to the modular chin bar and the aerodynamic profiling. I just about found a way to do it, but time will tell how practical it is. The packtalk is further back than I'm used to. The camera will likely miss a little more than it used to (side mounted). Neither of these things is a deal breaker though.
Overall it's comfortable, quiet (with earplugs), well ventilated and looks great. And of course...stellar service from SBS as always :)

LS2 make some excellent lids, and this is one
10 January 2024 by Len
I have really taken to LS2s upper range of helmets. This is the second LS2 helmet I have owned (Challenger being the other) and it has impressed me massively. I have owned most brands of typical helmets (including shoei, arai, bell and AGV) and the two LS2 helmets I own have been the best fit and best value for money.
It does have a premium quality feel, solid build and well constructed. It sits well against helmets in the £400/500 price range. The lining is very plush and the mechanisms all work well. The chin opens easily but has a good solid movement, locks well into its open position and looks natural (like an open face) and unobtrusive when open. It's locks into a full face solidly, easily operated with one hand while wearing fairly thick gloves. If you're wearing extremely heavy winter gloves, it's still manageable but a bit fiddly (but anything is with heavy gloves on).
When the chinbar is down and operating as a full face, it resembles Roof helmets. You can see that it's a mod helmet unlike Bells SRT or Shoeis Neotec. I prefer the look of those over the obviousness of others but the LS2 is not "ugly" in my opinion and probably only noticeable by other bikers.
The weight is good and even and the ventilation is on par with helmets hundreds of pounds more than this cost. Visors work well although the internal sun visor suffers from the same fate as every other internal sun visor, in it's a little smokey to look through, however I have never had a helmet with an internal visor that's any better.
SBS (or LS2) supplied me with a spare tinted visor, which was a nice surprise. You also get a pinlock included, so my dilemma was which visor to install it on. Shopping around I couldn't find another pinlock insert for less than £27 (at time of writing obviously), so something to bear in mind if you'll be switching visors. Changing the visor is really easy (one of the easiest I've had). It's simply a pull lever on the top of the mechanism and pull the visor free. It is a very strong lever though and I use a coin or key to pull it back. The field of vision is fantastic (with the chinbar down - as mod helmets tend to be) but massively better than a full face. Having the option to open the helmet up is more convenient than you'd think and one of those things you'll miss when wearing a full face afterwards.
The chin strap has a premium feel too. Easy to operate and I love the magnetic insert that keeps the tag from moving around or needing to be secured.
I paid £240ish for this in the sale (as a point of reference of my opinion), and it's well worth it. The build and value is outstanding and if you were to do a blindfold test you'd think it's easily a helmet costing twice that. If I had paid full price (£299) I would not be disappointed and still consider it great value for money.

LS2 Advant X Black Gold
17 November 2023 by Hiker B
Tried for size at MK shop; all felt good. In practice, it's a snug fit and with both glasses and ear plugs, I'm experiencing some discomfort. So far, removing ear plugs has helped, so probably need a softer version.
Everything else about helmet I like: lovely clear visor; will need to fit pinlock to stop fogging, but it's supplied. Also easy to ride with a just a small crack of visor open.
PJ homologated so able to use and even ride with open face if required. Chin bar recedes all way behind head.
Sun visor decent and easy to operate on the move.
Ventilation seems good, though not used in significant heat yet.
Love the design - matches my Tiger terrifically!

Light and quiet modular
08 September 2023 by Anonymous
An excellent design that flips the chin piece with visor open or closed to a comfortable 180 degrees. This means even if speeds increase you're not having your helmet act as an air brake. It also seems to make the wearing of it open more balanced.
When open the sides still give good protection and the helmet stays snug and secure, and you retain full use of both the clear and sunshade visors which is great in dusty conditions, rain or to protect from bugs and wind. Thanks to the close fitting sides which come flush with your cheeks, wind noise even open face is minimal.
When used as a full face it's very quiet, far, far quieter than my old Nolan X70. Field of vision is very good, and ventilation isn't bad. It takes a little getting used to the centre top visor lifting tab, but now I am it's actually a good logical place to have it, no danger of scratching the visor by your nose with muddy/dusty gloves.
I use mine on my adventure bike including green laning and it's perfect for that. One handed operation of the chin piece on the move is easy and secure, so you can easily flip it up as you get warm and down as the speeds increase. Also nice to be able to show horses and walkers a friendly face rather than a storm trooper full face helmet.
On the road it's quiet and you can feel the vents working.
On the downsides there is no peak, but the sun screen operates in stages so can be used just at the top setting to help in low sun height situations. It works well, so that's a very, very minor point.
The chin piece and visor mechanism don't appear to be the sturdiest of constructions. For the visor mechanism it has to be like this to allow instant chin piece movement regardless of visor position, and I would definetely keep that feature. Time will tell how robust that is in practice, but I'm confident it will be fine.
The chin piece itself is a little flexible when locked down, but seems to offer good protection still, doesn't rattle and combined with the close fitting sides/cheek area which cover well forward, I'm confident it will be safe even on a full frontal face impact. Obviously the Sharp and manufacturer testing agrees.
A top notch helmet for a very good price, and I'm very glad I replaced the Nolan (which I liked) with this. It's lighter, quieter and much more convenient to have chin piece adjustability on the fly without having to stash a separate chin piece anywhere.
It is very versatile and thoroughly recommended.
