Verified Customer Reviews for Bike It Spine Tank Pads
Our customers say…
Customers have expressed mixed experiences with this tank protector. While some praised its ease of application and value, many noted significant issues with adhesion. Several reports indicate that the pad often peels off within a few days, struggles to conform to curved surfaces, and occasionally suffers from poor adhesive quality. Some found the backing paper difficult to remove and suggested that the product might be ineffective if old or exposed to heat. Others appreciated its appearance and scratch protection capabilities. Overall, the product appears inconsistent in performance.

Tank protector
21 January 2020 by Steve L
Absolutely shocking bit of kit,
It has no stick at all, must be very old stock or kept near a heat source
because it's completely dried out.
And there's no flexibility in the pad
To bend around the tank curves..
DON'T BUY is my advice to everyone

Looks great, lacks a little quality

I have to say this is average, a very rare rating from Sportsbikeshop.
The protector started to lift from adhesive backing less than 72 hours after application.
Fortunately for me the guys had no problem replacing it, and I hope it is a once off.

Not ideal for a curvy tank.

Want to stop may Bobber's tank from being scratched so bought this. Inexpensive so I wasn't expecting too much.
Pros: Easy to reposition when you get it off centred. Looks good when stuck down properly.
Con: Doesn't stay stuck down properly, possibly because the Triumph Bobber's tank is quite curvy at the back and the "glue" is so easily repositionable.

Lasted a fortnight

Cleaned my tank with an alcohol wipe before application on a fairly warm day. Peeled the tank pad out of the packaging (which the upper side was stuck to quite firmly) and laid it on my tank. About two weeks later the bottom left 'rib' has started to peel away. Probably wouldn't order another one but the black looked really great when it was all stuck on.

Don't bother

The adhesive on this tank pad is not strong enough and isn't fit for purpose. I bought 1 and stuck it on my bike. Within 10mins, the edges started to curl up and peel off of my tank. I asked for another and it was exactly the same. Even tried heating the glue up with a hairdryer to make it tacky, but this still didn't work. Strapped it down overnight (my bike is kept in a garage) with bungee cords and still didn't stick. Don't waste your time!!

It took a bit of time to put this on but once I got it in it has disappeared onto my black tank on a 2018 Z650.

Would not buy again

Not very good adhesive properties. Had to heat it up for ages with a hair drier. Starting to come away in places already, looks yellowish on the bike not really clear as stated, would not buy again. Staff at Sportsbikeshop brilliant as usual, can't fault them at all and use them for all my motorcycling needs. Would recommend them 100%.

Nice looking, does not stick in places

I feel the tank pad may have been old stock as the backing paper was difficult to remove.
When I finally removed the backing a small section at the bottom did not stick with the same adhesion as the remaining section, I keep having to push it onto the tank of my brand new Ducati Monster 797.

Rubbish

Took a lot of care sticking it on, had peeled itself off after about 3 hours and can't re apply with any success. Complete waste of money.

Stuck to the packaging

This product was stuck to the packaging so when you try to take it out there's no way of checking to make sure it fits right all the stickiness was left on the packaging and not on the pad.

On arrival and still in the packet three of the spines had come away from their backing so the adhesive was perished. Not very impressed with this product, cheap and cheerful.
