Hyperpro Rear Lowering Kit - Honda NT700V Deaville

First point, as has been mentioned in other reviews is that the kit (for want of another word) is not what is shown in the pictures, but that doesn't matter. I have no mechanical abilities and took my bike to the local garage to get the job done and it wasn't easy! The problem was that my 2009 bike, which is considered to be in good condition, had corrosion in the inaccessible places which had to be taken apart to fit the lowering kit. A bolt had to be drilled out, a bush replaced and much of the back-end of the bike disassembled! Having said that the mechanic said this was the most professional lowering kit he'd seen and was also impressed that the instructions also gave the measurements for adjusting the front forks and shortening the side stand. In my case they decided to put a bend in the side-stand rather than cut and weld it.
The seat is noticeably lower and the ride is the same so I've achieved my aim, but because of the effort involved it has turned into quite an expensive exercise. I think it was worth it though.

The product is of high quality and appears to have been created 100% on a milling machine. I've done this mod to my own bike long ago and am now in the process of doing it to my lady friend's NT. I made my own spring compressor so that was easy and had a friend weld up the shortened kickstand foot.
Pushing the fork tubes up in the clamps was easy.

You know the saying "to judge a book by its cover" ... Well just apply this one to the lowering kit for the Honda NT 700. The picture showing is not at all what you will be getting. Instead it is one eye to be replaced with the eye end of the suspension. This is a job not to be done by an amateur. Only for specialist, because the suspension has to be compressed with a special tool to be taken apart. In addition the front forks need to be lowered and so does the side kick stand. I handed the work over to a Honda specialist. It took him 4 hours, because of the tools needed and it was his first encounter of such request. The result : Awesome! Well worth the money spend. I am 5 foot 8 but could not completely be sitting flat footed because of the wide seat. Now I can. Best part of all. Only the height has changed, nothing else! Sitting position, suspension everything as it had been before lowering. I give this one an excellent, not only because the shipping of the item was superman fast -3days- from the UK to US. I would do it again in a heartbeat.. Happy Riding to you all and stay safe!
