Very comfortable helmet

I've had Scorpion helmets in the past, so know the shape fits my head. This Exo-Tech is a snug but comfortable fit with great visibility. The flip feature is wonderful - it locates the chin guard all the way to the back of teh helmet and locks in place. The helmet is still perfectly balanced and there is no wind drag. This makes it ideal for transitioning from road to off-road on a tour.

Good quality helmet, for its price bracket. It's redeeming feature is the chin bar folds away so nearly you can have an open face helmet at higher speeds, alot of helmets at this price will have the chin bar catching wind at speeds over 30mph - like my hjc i90...

Came with very light scratches on the inside of the visor but apart from that good helmet.

I so wanted to like this helmet...not least because I bought it for a very long (18 months!) overseas touring trip and it won't be easy to replace it. Reasons for purchasing it after an extended session at the Boston store trying on every possible adventure/modular helmet in my size.. 1. It was lighter than my current elderly HJC; 2. The visor is huge giving superb viz. and comes with a pinlock 3. The sunvisor is optically excellent. 4. It felt like it would have excellent airflow for hot climes. 5. The flip over chin bar makes for an airy helmet when doing slow riding/off road/border crossings etc. However after wearing it for a solid month every day on tarmac and dirt, it just feels cheap, creaky, noisy and I really don't think it will last another 6 months. The flip over mechanism is already graunchy and chooses when to work; the sunvisor slidebar mechanism no longer works so have to try and pull the sunvisor down manually with my fingers. The wind noise that comes through the modular side joints when the wind is coming from the side is awful and opens my cardo comms unit causing my partner to hear white noise. Honestly if I was back in the UK this helmet would have gone back to sportsbikeshop as wholly unsatisfactory.... I can't recommend it at all. I don't understand all the great reviews...perhaps mine is a Friday afternoon job?? I've given it 2 because it remains comfortable, the field of vision is excellent and the flip over concept is very useful.

Comfortable, fairly light and for a flip reasonably quiet, some noise from top vent but that's to be expected. Fit and finish are good although there is a bit of a creak occasionally due to the construction materials. Vision is excellent with visors and chin bar easy to use. Overall very pleased with quality.

I wanted a flip over helmet to allow riding open face, without the wind catching the flip up visor when you get up to speed. This helmet does just that, and up to around 50-60 mph it is very comfortable and reasonably quiet. After that, you would probably want to use the chin bar.

Flipping the chin bar over is easy enough at rest, but a bit tricky while moving. Probably not advisable while on the move. Also, the visor needs to be in the up position when flipping the chin bar back over, so it is something you cannot do on a whim while moving. Annoyingly, while the chir bar locks in the rear position, there is no lock or ratchet to hold the chin bar in the upright position, which you might want if you have just stopped briefly.

I compared this to the HJC i100 which is similar. It does have a vertical lock position, and moves the visor as you rotate the chin guard. However, it is £100 more, weights another 200g, and for me, wouldn't allow me to fit my glasses.

However, visibility is great, wide field of view, good pinlock and visor clarity.

Would recommend you try these out if you are thinking of a helmet like this. A good helment, but not great, but would recommend if you're after this kind of design.

Very versatile with chin bar, visor and sunglasses up or down in any combination. I find it rather noisy compared to my previous AGV compact but weirdly placing a finger in front of it or even on my chest makes it incredibly quiet (I wonder if having a screen would remove this noise). I have had some rain splashes reach my face when raining which I haven't experienced with my AGV either. I haven't installed the pinlock yet because I found my AGV was so well ventilated that I didn't need it; not so with this helmet though which seems to fog up more readily (I'm sure the pinlock will resolve this). Overall happy with the helmet though.

Time came for a new flip front - where else to start but SBS?!!
Drew up a short list online and all were in store to try - after much deliberation the Exo Tech was chosen and delivered but medium was just that bit small so a return visit where the store staff were really helpful with advice in sorting a swap to a large.
The helmet was tight at outset but beds in' after 3 wears and equally importantly it was the best fit for my glasses.
Really quiet (better than the HJC I had) the flip over front is brilliant and the sun visor is the easiest to operate I have ever had.
SBS price was within my budget too.
This helmet does everything I wanted to achieve.
All in all a 'win win' for me.

Second one of these good vision area pin lock visor included use as full face or open face tried a lot of others but can't beat this on price .

I measured medium but needed large.
Tight around cheeks.
Loses one star wind crosses face when used in open position.

The fact it flips up and doesnt act like a sail is really useful. Makes the helmet a great allrounder and useful if you pop in and out of shops frequently.

The service, again, was 100%. The lid was exactly as described, perfect fit, comfortable and easy to view my comms in , removed the foam where the ears would be and a nice recess for the earphones to sit back in so no discomfort there, can't wait to take this on a long tour .
