The Pro model is more improved design over the former Evo tank clip. Magnetic as well so very easy the fit bag and secure. Previous Evo one and older tank bag gave me problems on a BMW S1000XR 21 plate. A bit of a faff to fit to find the right bolt length and sequence of fitting 2 rings. Fasteners can fall into the bike so put a towel around the tank cap to catch them. Over, very good and day tank bag stands proud of the tank and very secure.

Saw-motech tank ring

This arrived with box opened so clearly sent off and not required. But all parts were there. The ring was bent so unsure if done in transit. I have a workshop so had the chance to straighten out. But others may not have and would have had to return. But again well made items.

I purchased this at the same time as the SW Motec micro tank bag. The ring comes in 2 pieces, the kit has spacers and dowels to make fitting look like it was designed with the bike. It doesn't interfere with filler cap operations and as it sits slightly proud of the tank surface there is no contact between the tank bag and your precious tank paint.

What - no tools?

very well designed and crafted piece of kit to hold my WP tank bag onto the tank of my BMW RS1250. Reasonable easy to fit and suppled with different length bolts for me to select the best for my bike. I have all my own tools, but surely SW Motech could have supplied the correct size Allen keys in the box for those who don't (as they do for the tank bag)

First tank bag for me. But must say the set up is well made. This fitting ring is quite pleasing to the eye on my 2014 BMW GS. Was easy to attach and causes no issues with fueling.
Another step towards this years road trip.

Easy to install and easy to use. Ensures the Tank Bag is going nowhere in any conditions.
The only issue is the fitting, although it doesn't say it this BMW / KTM/ Ducati Ring is also for the Triumph Explorer. The one that is described as for the Triumph Explorer, isn't, so it's worth confirming with the very friendly and helpful people at Sportsbikeshop.

Description
The Quick-Lock locking mechanism of the SW-Motech tank rings, which has been tried and tested for many years, can now be operated even more easily thanks to the magnetic guidance aid from Fidlock technology. The positioning of the top ring has been significantly improved: the sliding top ring comes already pre-assembled on the tank bag with a guide rail, and the tank bag does not need to be drilled. This way, the top ring can be custom-aligned onto the guide rail on the underside of the tank bag. Once the right position has been found, the top ring is screwed tight. When changing to another motorcycle, the position of the upper ring can be adjusted accordingly. The magnetic guide, developed by Fidlock, complements the already advanced SW-Motech mechanical Quick-Lock latching system: the magnets guide the upper ring into the appropriate position on the tank ring and the lock snaps firmly into place. The strength of the magnets supports the positioning of the tank bag. Fasten the tank bag in one simple step and drive off - your luggage is safe with this clever solution. The mechanical locking mechanism secures the tank bag, and the magnets bring both parts of the ring together. The robust fibreglass reinforced plastic with its high-precision locking geometry is responsible for ensuring that the tank bag remains firmly in place in all situations. The patented Pro tank ring is made to suit the tank filler neck of the motorcycle model. This ensures the best possible positioning onto the tank.
