Having considered replacing my 15yr old Wolf Motorcycle trousers, I looked online and found that the
Merlin Mahala D3O Cordura DWR Explorer Trousers - Black / Olive although expensive had Great reviews, and being a great believer of you get what you pay for, I ordered a pair to try before you buy at sportsbikeshop Harlow branch.
They were everything I hoped for and I purchased that day.
The following day I decided on a damp cold evening to try them out along with my other recent purchase a
Merlin Yoxall 2 jacket both passed with flying colours and I returned home as warm and dry as when I left home.
One other thing customer service at Sportsbikeshop are a cut above the rest and I take my hat off to them all Thankyou

Great Trousers/great look

I have the Malhala D 30 jacket so I ordered the Malhala D30 cordura DWR Explorer trousers to match. The quality of the product is superb and you really feel protected and ready for all weather conditions when wearing them. I bought them because I didnt want anything black again so this khaki look was just what I wanted for that adventure look, riding my Himalayan. Now having read what others have said about sizing and after carefully checking the sizing chart I ordered an 2xLarge as i am 38/39inch waist. When they arrived I tried them on and they were far too big. I measured the inside circumference of the trousers and it came to 44 inches. My matching jacket is a L so I ordered an L in the trousers and sent the first pair back. The new pair arrived the next morning at 10.30( superb service by sportsbikeshop and DPD) The trousers fitted great. Be aware though that there is no provision for a belt. You can connect to the jacket via a zip but that is not always practical so it was out with the braces. Recommended product.

Normally I like to try clothing online in the shop before buying. I bought online and they were true to size - I still can't believe how well they fit me! Great fit and the black looks really good.

Everytime I deviate away from merlin, I regret it.
I fancied a pair of high rated (aa+) pants for touring, so got a pair from another manufacturer. They didn't deliver.
These on the other hand are brilliant.
Very comfy, really nice looking (would suit any type of rider I think) and clearly well made.
They have it all i think. One trouser to rule them all!
Vents... Check.
Waterproof... Check.
Removable thermal liner.... Check.
Armour... Check.
AA rated... Check.
Looks good with touring kit or day kit?... Check.
They have that nice vintage scrambler look to them, which I know won't be 'the' look forever, but for the time being these are totally on trend!
They only thing I would knock it down on is the knee armour is very high. Even with the adjustment. I don't think I have strangely long femurs? But the knee armour sits too high. However they are so nice in all other ways I'm just going to figure out a way of adding a lower adjustment point.

I bought the size large with long leg length and they fit very well. I normally wear waist 32 inch jeans and 32 length. My only negative comment on the trousers is there is only one small change pocket.
