Cardo 2nd Helmet Kit - Packtalk Series

Came quick, excellent service SBS and is easy to fit after watching a video

It works - not much else to say !

As a reluctant convert to Cardo's DMC mesh network and a more senior rider than many, I hesitated to start using tools around my old helmet. SportsBikeShop's kit had everything I needed, and the improved quality of our intercourse on the road, is testimony to how well the helmet now fits my lovely wife.

As with all Cardo products in my experience, this 2nd helmet kit is of excellent quality and is easy to fit, depending on the construction of the helmet. In this instance, there was an intermitent fault in one ear piece. I went back to Sportsbikeshop in Boston where I was well received, the guy cared about my problem, checked the unit in the helmet, agreed that there was a defect, replaced the ear pieces and even updated the firmware in the Cardo unit. Customer service above and beyond.

Well, my old Cardo unit works fine with this kit…. But the microphone lead is almost too short for my new AGV K6 without cutting the cheek piece mounting skirt, which I won't do. It's fitted but not ideal. The wire can't be totally tucked away and comes out too easily. The Cardo help desk said they don't do microphone extension cables so that was that. Nothing wrong with the kit as such…………..

A brilliant solution for the second lid. I have the JBL speakers in the original lid, but these have worked without issue, as expected in the second lid.

All the kit is there and it's good quality - annoying that you have to buy a boom Mike and a std mic as a lot of the items left over in the box. JBL version is ridiculously overpriced. This item still feels overpriced for what it is (hence four stars not five).

Great that you don't have to buy a second main Paktalk. Well packed and plenty of fittings for various fitments. Problem is the size of the cable connectors, although fitted into my AGV AX9 finally okay.

Replaced older speakers and mic that were playing up , easy to fit and good quality. Agree with others about the JBL Speakers not worth the extra cost as these sound the same on the move.

Works very well, as might be expected.

I use custom earplugs on a 3.5mm jack, so I don't need all of the other bits and pieces, and I don't need the speakers. I'd prefer to be able to buy individual components than a whole 'kit', but this is pretty good value.

I bought my Packtalk Bold with the JBL speakers and yes, when you're stationary, they do have good base but once moving the base disappears. I was looking for a 2bd helmet kit with JBL speakers but when I saw the price dirrence I bought these instead. To be honest, on the road I can't tell the difference. These are loud enough and clear to listen to music or podcasts. Don't waste you money on the JBL kit is my opinion.

Been using the second helmet kit on a Shoei J.O open face helmet. Easy enough to install and simple to swap the Packtalk unit between my full face Airhoh Commander and the Shoei. Just been using it to listen to music playlists and the radio. Haven't used it to recieve phone calls as I tend not to answer the phone when riding or driving, but it's easy enough to make calls when stationary, hence the 4 stars. Never the less sound quality is pretty good in both helmets.
