Klim Arsenal 15 Backpack - Asphalt

Would have rated higher but I'm not sold on the curved back plate just yet, as I had back ache after wearing it for a day out. I'll evaluate again on a nicer day as the freezing temps my have played a part.

Seems to be aimed at the day tripper or enduro rider, It's small with separate pockets but pack it wisely and you can fit a fair amount of stuff in it and it's easy to access without pulling everything out.

In the expansion section I fit a neatly folded XL Klim inversion gortex jacket, goggles in the top pouch (with the handy built in wipe), spare gloves and camera gear in the main section in the included water resistant tool pouch with enough room for the full drink bladder.
Small bottom pouch fits keys, glasses, suncream, multitool and such.

It's really a summer pack as it's not waterproof, the rain cover is a faff to put on and ends up with water getting inside it and pooling in the bottom.
Having said that, it did a full day around the lakes in heavy rain and snow and the despite the rain being driven into the cover the contents of the bag stayed dry.
The front chest pockets saw high speeds in the rain and surprisingly did an admirable job of keeping the contents pretty dry.

I love this pack because of the way you can organise your gear but if you want a proper waterproof pack there's other options but they lack the organisational features of this pack.

For those worries about the lack of a waist strap, it does not move or bounce about ! Feels weird at first but it does stay put.

So Klim need to make a better way of fitting the rain cover, maybe a slot and bead like a caravan awning and it would take some beating.
Picky ? Yes ! For less money you can buy an Enduristan that can be thrown in the river and leave your gear dry but then comes the weight penalty.
