Pyramid Hugger Matte Black - Honda CB500 F / CB500 X / CBR500 R / CB 750

The Hugger itself is good , well made and looks good when fitted. BUT as others stated a heavier wider Zip Tie is required. I was prepared for this reading previous reviews. I slightly widened the slots with a small file and fitted a much stronger Tie. Perfect.

Minor improvement would be to supply a more heavy duty and wider zip tie / cable tie to fix it to the bike as this is all that holds it on. In my opinion the supplied zip tie is not up to the job. I had some 7mm wide ties already, so linked a few together to make a much stronger fixing.

The hugger required a pad piece to be added to improve its rigidity when fitted. The side of the swinging arm which makes contact with the hugger does not have a flat profile it has a seam running horizontally across the centre of the swinging arm. So when the hugger is fitted directly onto the swinging arm with a tie wrap it rocks on the seam. This was alleviated by creating a pad piece that bridged the seam and made better contact with the swinging arm improving the rigidity of the hugger when fitted. The hugger stops some but not all of the water and road filth when riding in the wet. Still tempted to fit a full hugger!

Have used Pyramid products on previous bike. They never fail, good designs, easy to fit. This compliments the CB500X. When we eventually get some rain & muck I see if it works, but am confident after previous purchases.

Got this to help keep some of the dirt that ge thrown onto rear shock. Comes with one cable tie and fits easy into place. However, didn't feel the one tie was adequate, added a futher two ties either side of the original one and it's now solid as a rock and makes me feel more confident that if a tie should fail there's another two in place. Over all for the price and the fact you don't have to remove parts to fit it, I'm very pleased. Goes without saying, usual first class service from Sportsbikeshop.

Just a couple of minutes, looks good and original chain gaurd stays .

Got these to keep muck and dirt away from spring area does a perfect job and easy to fit very pleased with item.

Just a cable tie to secure it! And it's simple and relatively cheap as it is only a hugger and leaves in place the standard but effective chain guard. It does the job.
