Givi GRT720 Canyon Waterproof Pannier 25 Litre

Great product if a little expensive. The only problem is that they are not interchangeable with Givi Trekker Monokey Lugggage. (This is despite me being told that they were) Also the locks are not interchangeable with Triumph Givi locks. Seems crazy to me that Givi would make 2 different attachment locations on the same luggage. According to a SBS customer service person it is "so that they can charge more"

Initially i purchased the Givi Trekker, the 92 litre pair.
And immediately as i opened the box and took a first look, for me, it was a No No!
Too BIG and too rigid, even though it was going on my BMW R1300 GS TE.
So i decided to go for the Givi Canyon Waterproof panniers with 25 litter volume on each one.
Apart from looking unique and great with amazing brilliant stitch finish on the straps, they have additional advantage as far as I'm concerned.
Firstly because they're soft, if you drop the bike whilst with a pillion, the panniers will not hurt them. But additional they don't get damaged as Givi are using a strong hard wearing material. Furthermore, they protect the bike.
In short, they look great, they're practical and safe.

The Canyon has 25L per side storage and waterproof, these did a great job for 2 of us around Ireland, with their quick drop on and click in securing to the monokey racks.
25L may not seem much, but, we managed 5 days with 3 sets of main after riding clothes and 5 sets of socks & skids, and a wash bag each. The spare riding gear went in a Givi 40L rolltop waterproof bag instead of a top box.
Quality of the Canyons is excellent and they just feel up for anything, with enough securing straps and enough roll to perhaps drop in an extra 3L and still keep a good weather tight roll.

We found the Canyon perfect for what we needed and yet small enough reduce width on the bike, and to unclip and carry into hotels/B&B without any awkward bulk, so easy and look tidy.
They look good on, and Givi have a history of good workmanship so that speaks for itself.

The waterproof removable inner liner is dayglow yellow and so visually assists when looking inside, as well as makes it an easier packing aid at home, to then just slip into the main bags.

So then...well made, look good, work well in weather, easy to clean, easy off-on, keeps weight down and just really impressed.
Turned out to be a great option for hard luggage replacement.

These would be rated excellent if there was a security system for the rolltops, however, nothing a wire looped travel padlock wouldn't take care of; be nice if Givi incorporated something like that into them, maybe V2.0 in the future. Otherwise, love them, and certainly a good decision :-)
