Good but can't update and now discontinued!
21 April 2023 by Robert D
I tried it out on a trip across country from South Wales to Suffolk. Music feature worked well as did the radio, both operated by the voice control. Radio did drop in and out some of the time but I'll need to work on the tuning. Hopefully I'll set it up correctly. Haven't tried the intercom yet.
My only issue is that every time I switch it on and link it to my I phone it says that there's an update available. However I can't update it. Been in touch with Cardo and gone through many steps but still not working. Now waiting to send it back under warranty but arguing over the posatge, as it needs to go back to either Hungary or the USA.

Best Deal, Top Seller

Good communication and quick delivery.
They say you get what you pay for when something is cheaper than others but I couldn't be happier with the price and service, product does exactly what I needed, easy to setup

Easy to install and set up, great sound.
29 June 2022 by Ian P
I bought this as an upgrade to an old Scala Rider system and installed to a Neotec2.
Ear pieces are easy to install (exact size) but did struggle little with getting them adhere to the supplied Velcro so used a small adhesive pad to help.
Once installed (note: boom for the mike does not fit perfectly in the channel provided on a Neotec 2) it took a couple of minutes with the app to set up and the sound quality and voice commands are excellent.
It also reconnects to other units far more easily after being turned off than on the older systems.
Overall a neat install my new lid and much easier to use that older comms units. The black unit also looks better than the "bold" one imho.

Looks great, works well

Quality communication system!
The JBL speaker are very clear, however may be too large to fit in certain earpiece housing, depending on the helmet. There are adapters included to overcome the installation issues and Cardo's tutorial videos have some recommendations on how to install the speakers

Temperamental
25 May 2022 by Michelle C
The first unit I had to send back as voice activation didn't work. The second unit I've just started using and so far is temperamental. It does not answer or ignore an incoming call. Don't always respond correctly. So very disappointed if this is the best unit on market. I haven't used the DMC part only Bluetooth

Overall a great unit but poor sound
24 May 2022 by Phill M
I bought this last week as i read good reviews on the unit, I needed it just for music and sat nav only.
iIt's very easy to fit and set up , pair etc. But the only word of warning i would add is that the sound quality isn't what i was expecting.
I always use earplugs, and have the ultimate ear with the holes in to listen to music etc. On my Nolan with built in Sena, its brilliant and the volume really goes high enough to listen to sat nav when travelling at speed . WIth the Cardo, it was nigh on impossible, with no ear plugs, then you're going to be fine. But i am 55 so my hearing isn't the best now, and thats because i rarely wore plugs for years.
so, to summarise, , if you have got good hearing, then go for it, really easy to use. If you need plugs, i would suggest not to buy

Hit and miss
29 April 2022 by Matt P
I haven't had much luck with the cardo's. My brother and I bought a pair that were faulty so we had to send them back. We then spent more money on the Packtalk Black thinking more money better product only 1 of those 2 units also failed. That's 3 out of 4. SBS were amazing in the whole testing and replacement of it. Comms were A1 top notch and it's because of those comms that I keep coming back to buy more products. So finally we have 2 working Packtalk Black units. This isn't a perfect technology, sometimes the volume is low, sometimes it's high and every now and then it will power itself off, but, over a 2hr ride that only happened once and the rest of the time it kinda behaved. Would I recommend them? That's hard to say. Maybe providing you have realistic expectations. Thing is there is no alternative, the Senna ones are not even waterproof which baffles me for a bike. If you get a good one, then great, go for it. Maybe I just had a bit of bad luck and despite the hit and miss of it I still wouldn't be without it, so there is ya answer, buy one :)

Great Bluetooth Intercom
05 April 2022 by Rob H
Early days, but brilliant so far. Purchased this as an upgrade from a different intercom, sound quality being the main reason. Not disappointed. I've fitted the supplied velcro cushions also raising the JBL speakers out of the helmet, no longer need full volume on these ones. Fitting very straightforward and secure. 45mm speakers fitted great in my HJC Rpha 70. Straightforward phone app works great and a little change to uk voice command has voice operation working fine. Even loving the few preset radio stations. SBS were great on the advise again, thanks there too. Not tested in the rain so cant comment there but very pleased overall.

The product is better than expected, as an intercom, it works flawlessly. The music and phone calls you receive aren't quite as loud and easy to hear over a bike's exhaust/wind noise. But the intercom is by far the clearest I have ever used and I couldn't recommend it enough

Quality Comms
04 March 2022 by Brian P
I bought the Packtalk black based on many positive reviews and videos. I can only comment on using them for music and calls via bluetooth and so far they have proven to be excellent. Very easy to fit in my Shark Speed R helmet and quick and easy to pair with phone. The voice commands and auto volume adjustment at speed works very well. Sound quality from the 45mm drivers is impressive for what they are. Overall I'm very happy with this product and wished I bought one sooner. As always excellent prompt delivery from SBS

My first motorcyle comms system
13 January 2022 by Shaun J
I thought it was time to invest in a bike comms system, something that had the mesh comms system for multiple rider group comms. I purchased the Cardo Packtalk Black as the Cardo Packtalk reviews were good. I have also watched social media videos where people say that the 45mm JBL speakers are better than the standard Packtalk speakers, hence going for the black rather that the standard Packtalk. Now this is where you need to be careful, most helmets (that I have seen) that have speaker cut outs only cater for the standard size speakers (40mm), the 45mm JBL that you get with the Packtalk Black are to large for the speaker cut outs, so be prepared to have to make adjustments to your helmet speaker holes (not something to do if you dont have the right tools to achieve this and also think about your Helmets Warranty etc). Personally, I think its probably better to stick with the standard Packtalk as the speakers should fit your helmet without any adjustment and to be honest, I doubt you would hear the difference in sound quality once you are on the move anyway. Summary - Packtalk Black, if you really want all black, if not go for the standard Packtalk.

Best I've seen.

From all the reviews online this appears to be the best or one of the best. Yes I haven't tried this yet, but ducati sold the packtalk bold as an accessory. This is the same but few upgrades, so I believe this will be an excellent headset. Yes I wish had dab radio instead of fm, but not seen anything with dab built-in headset wise. The service from sportsbikeshop is always the best and I wouldn't trust anyone else to buy this from or many other things. I will try and update this once I've had an opportunity to use after Christmas. But I have high hopes from this and has many features that separate this from others available. Yes it's lots of money, but buy well once instead of cheaper many times is my thinking.

This is a quality made product, once installed inside your helmet fits perfectly and is unintuitive "although some could experience wind noise" reception is spot on. A little expensive though?

Cardo Packtalk Black
05 November 2021 by Donald G
It was very easy to fit in my Lazer Carbon Flip lid, but the software update didn't go to plan when my broardband froze halfway through, and I thought I had wrecked the device! Luckily, it continued to update after the broadband restored, although there was no indication it was doing so, I just left it plugged in to the computer.
Once updated and changed to UK voice, all commands work fine, Volume was a little lower than expected, but a tweek of adjusting speaker position did make a difference. Also on testing with music from Satnav, tapping the device with your fingers to simulate external noise did increase the volume, so when riding the bike the volume does go up to compensate.
Overall I am well impressed! Expensive I know, even with Sportsbikeshop discount. but so far I feel it is worth the extra! Recommended!
