I never used a variable controller with my gilet, I just used a on-off switch connected directly to the battery. This worked fine because the delay takes a lot less power. But for the 601 jacket, I have paired this with it is a necessity because I want to run off battery so I need to be able to put it on a lower power setting.

Essential for winter

This is my second keis controller. The first stopped working after a few years, the same happened with the keis vest. They are good products but sadly the longevity isn't up to much, although I guess thats life in our throwaway society.

I got this free with my jacket and I'm certainly glad I did. It is a slightly pricey item otherwise but well worth it. The jacket has a pocket to keep it in and, when in use, the cable is long enough so that the controller hangs down just below my textile jacket. Might be tricky to alter the temperature on the go, with winter gloves on etc, but certainly not impossible. Keis should include this with the jacket - I'm glad Sportsbikeshop threw it in with mine.
