DetailsVerified Customer Reviews for Keis V501RP Premium Heated Bodywarmer
Customers have praised the Keis heated vest for its superior performance in keeping them warm during cold rides. The vest heats up quickly, particularly with the use of a thermostatic controller, which many deem essential. Customers suggest selecting a snug fit for optimal effectiveness and highlight the vest's quality build and versatility. While some mention the added cost for accessories like controllers and power packs, they generally agree that the vest extends their riding season and improves comfort considerably.
The vest itself is very good, bought for my wife as I already have several Keis items. I was hoping to use an older style rectangular controller with the vest that I was using on my old Keis vest. However, it didn't work. It worked fine with the newer triangular controller, though. I spoke to support at Keis, who were very responsive, but I wasn't happy with the outcome that I had to buy a new controller. They offered a 5% discount, which is just under £2, not worth bothering with. Very disappointed that a £140 turns into a £180 purchase.
Heated vest that banishes winter chills. I tried it as standard and was nearly cooked so had to buy the heat controller, really should be built in and the cost adjusted. Would be 5* if the controller wasn't a separate item. Other than that, fantastic.
Well made jacket which Fits perfectly and works really well. Great product
Nice vest, purchased one for my wife so treated myself this winter. Accurate size fit. So far has been warm enough this winter. Would have been 5 stars if controller was included.
Great quality, lightweight, good heat but not tried on really cold days yet ,expect it to be fine, very happy with the vest
It looks smart but not as good as my old keis waistcoat thats about 20 years old (5 stars). It has a lot larger heated element lower down the back where you want the heat, the new one has a measley thin heated element that goes between the shoulder blades only, I needed a new what fit as put a few pounds on over the years ha
My son bought one of these vests when they first came out and it's still going strong. He had recommended I get one for a while and I finally bought one and I wish I had got one years ago, because it's amazing. First time out we
Rode in 4 degrees and it keeps your core temperature just right.
The quality of the product is excellent. The fact you can power it from the bike or a battery pack is a great feature.
But there's just a couple of things
1. You need to make sure you measure your chest as it needs to fit snug
2 I was a little disappointed that you have to purchase the heat controller separately but you do need this otherwise the temperature gets too hot.
Other than that this product is perfect
Absolute game changer!
Quality of waistcoat looks and feels excellent.
Found it got a little too warm without the extra controller, at this point if I have a niggle it's that Keis really should supply this with the waistcoat and not as an extra!
Ability to plug in heated trousers, socks and gloves.
I have a Keis full jacket, which is superb and have used it for a number of years in full winter. I wanted to try the gilet, freeing up my arms and neck, just keeping my body core warm for not quite so cold days. This gilet is excellent. You dont know you have it on fit wise and will fit nicely under winter jackets etc. As per my other jacket, this gilet is so good, I have only used it on the lowest temperature setting (definitely need the controller). Riding is such a pleasure when you are warm. 100% recommended!
I've been prevaricating about buying one of these for a while now & the valentines 20% offer tipped the balance. In short buy the garment to be a tight fit - it works best that way. There are hidden pockets all over the body and the one for the battery is inside the garment, I only found it when I got the additional power controller and determined there was a second lead to attach to the battery - the external pocket where I had initially connected the battery is for the controller. Although expensive when purchasing the additional battery and essential power controller, this gilet offers a very flexible heating solution on and off the bike. Early trials suggest that from the 2600MaH battery 3 hours on medium is achievable - wired to the bike the world is your lobster. As usual the service from the supplier was exemplary as I've come to expect.
Bought the vest initially without the controller and found it to be way too hot, especially across the upper back section.
With the controller connected it doesn't get so hot even when set to max, so is far more comfortable. This controller is essential equipment. It is, however, tricky to operate when wearing a full helmet and gloves.
Looks like a quality product. Not used yet so can't say 5 star. The size guide was way off. I'm a 40 inch chest and the guide suggested an XS! Didn't sound right, but followed the guide. Ended up ordering a S and M and travelled to Leeds branch to try on. Went for medium. Staff there helpful.
I've purchased this vest to wear on site in the building industry. Followed the advice from other reviews, so as to get a snug fit and can report it does a great job of keeping you warm. Only down side is the storage of the battery, if you put it in the inside pocket of the vest, it tends to stick in you a bit. I've taken to putting in my front trousers pocket, which does seem better, although still a bit cumbersome. It could do with a pocket at the base of the back. I think if I was using it on the bike and had it plugged into the bikes electrical system, there would be no issues whatsoever
Dont leave home without it on...
I've only worn the vest down to 7°C so far and one person's cold is another person's balmy, but with that in mind, I've found this vest to be a good buy. I'm wary of the extra bulk of a full heated jacket under a separate armoured one or having to maintain a heated outer jacket in the face of winter grime so I opted for the vest. I also bought the controller and lead for the bike's power socket.
I'm pleased with the fit of the vest, the speed with which it heats up and the relatively modest power draw. It is lightweight and comfortable too. The lack of sleeves allows freedom of movement while still warming the core.
I'd prefer if the vest got hotter but on maximum it keeps me warm on the motorway while the miles to go by. I'd also prefer if the heated panels covered more of the chest and back but they cover higher up at least which tends to be where the wind catches.
Think carefully about whether a vest or full jacket would suit you best, bear in mind that the vest only partially heats the chest and back and you shouldn't be disappointed if you still opt for the vest.
I have always gone out on my bike all the year round and many a time been very cold and that kind of spoils the day, but now I have my heated jacket, insoles and gloves. Cold ? what cold? it is lovely and toasty no matter what the weather is, I only wish they were around 40 years ago.
My 1st heated vest and just wow. No need for the bulky layers anymore. Base layer, heated vest, long sleeved top, and summer vented armoured jacket, with a waterproof jacket over the top does me just fine. Used that combo down to 0C and only had to switch between low and medium.
I bought the Keiss heated vest with a certain degree of scepticism, as my previous attempts at heated (battery) gloves for skiing were a failure. I am now a convert, as this mini heated blanket really does do the job. The low heat is just about noticeable, the medium setting is where you still feel toasty warm at motorway speeds (7C air temperature) whilst the high has not been used yet. Great bit of kit, so you look less like the Michelin man with umpteen layers and can sit in the cafe without stripping off loads of layers.

February 22, 2023You will require the Keis Accessory Plug Lead to connect this vest to a 12V socket. Please note that the current from the socket is far lower than that drawn from the motorcycle battery and as such, the vest will not reach its highest temperatures.
