Alpinestars Ketchum Gore-Tex Textile Jacket - Ice Grey / Dark Grey / Black

It is a very stylish and very comfortable jacket, it is functional and practical, it performs well against the elements and is very breathable but in turn does a good job of stopping the cold getting to the inside

Waiting very long to buy Ketchum jacket as it has new EU quality certificate. Like always Alpinestars does its clothing very neatly. Maybe design and choice it's not so great like for other more expensive brands but Ketchum model looks much better in the reality than on the photos. Despite visual aspects the quality and price are like always great. Jacket has very good vent system which allow air to flow between the jacket top layer and a goretex membrane which cools very nicely but don't allow cold air to have a direct contact with the body which works perfect when the weather conditions change suddenly.

Has the reassurance of gore-tex lining. Its a little lighter than the Oxford jacket its replacing. It fits neatly at the cuffs with lots of adjustment elsewhere so no flapping - I'm usually a large and this fits as expected. External pockets are deep with a fold over closure so we'll see if that keeps the water out -i'd have preferred zips to ensure my keys and wallet can't get out. I bought the level 2 Alpinestars back protector which is light and fits neatly in the pocket. There's a chest pocket behind the velcro closure flap which I use for my phone. Overall I'm happy with it but not tried in the wet yet. As with all these jackets I layer up for cold and its about the same as others for cold protection but it doesn't let any wind in so I think will be good. You can't secure the neck flap open in any way and I've yet to get to grips with the zip attachment - it's a design I've not come across before but once connected it works very well.
