Alpinestars GP Plus R V3 Rideknit Leather Jacket - Black / Red Fluo

This jacket feels incredible while riding, it's so comfortable you can almost forget you're wearing a fully protected leather jacket, I bought this jacket as I was interested in the new rideknit material and it really is next generation material, plenty of air flow, which is great during the summer and having no hump on the back means I can just throw a hoody over in the winter no problem, hope to have to jacket as long as my previous rst one, seriously impressed by this jacket alongside the service provided by sportsbikeshop, As I ordered a size too big, within days I had another jacket to replace, the colour or this jacket really pops out and I've had some many people comment on it at meets ect, I can imagine it's going to become a hugely popular jacket in no time if you were to demand me for a bad point I'd really struggle to find one for it, the quality from the zips to the knitting, the inside stitching is all seriously well made and super comfy!

This is the most comfortable leather jacket I've had. The rideknit fabric makes for an extremely flexible jacket. One thing to be aware of, this jacket is very very ventilated due to the rideknit fabric. I used it on a 22°C day and was starting to get a little chilly due to the amount of airflow. Some extra layers will be needed if the temperature drops much lower than this. Definitely not a jacket for colder temps.

Amazing jacket, super comfortable and high attention to detail. It was like wearing a thick top rather than a bike jacket due to the thin Nucleon Plus armour in the shoulders and elbows.
Nice to see armour can be upgraded to the slightly thicker CE level 2 Nucleon Pros for about £25 a pair.

Unfortunately I'm between sizes so have sent this back for a size down.

Rideknit material is extremely flexible and seems to be at least double layered for durability.

Colour is spot on too, the "bright red" actually being red and not "Fluo red" (which can sometimes look orange) of some of A*s other models.

Would be nice to have a removable internal quilted layer but due to the flexibility of the jacket, I don't see it being an issue wearing another layer of clothing underneath.

Also no back protector included which I think A*s should've included but I can see why they haven't for this jacket - compatibility with Tech Air system. Although, the non-rideknit version also doesn't have a back protector and does NOT support Tech Air so who knows!


All in all, although I'm yet to go for a ride in this, the jacket was comfortable, latest armour tech which felt like I had no armour at all (especially at the elbows), great design, but missing a couple of things which other brands may have included (RST for example).
Sitting on the bike in the garage showed no usual pinching of material or any odd tightness.

Looking forward to getting it in my correct size!
