Shad SH48 Top Case - Titanium Carbon Cover And Backrest - 48 Litre

Chosen for my 2018 BMW GS, it feels well made, looks smart, fits 2 helmets, and with the 2 part back rest my wife says it is good to lean on. In a world of choices I nearly went for BMW luggage, but I'm glad I didn't. As always, SBS were great with delivery (on a bank holiday weekend), and a great price cheers.

Excellent quality and finish. Really pleased with this case. I started looking at the cheaper options and ended up at the most expensive ones, as usual. But very glad I did as the overall fit and finish is superb. The look is great for my bike with the carbon / titanium inserts too. Match the colours and look top quality. The lock set up is genius compared to others, as you have open, locked and release in 3 separate positions. Much better idea. The back pads included had marks inside the case for drilling, so no measurements needed, brilliant idea and fitted in seconds. My first Shad product and would definitely recommend.

I've just bought the S1000XR 2020. Great bike but BMW really are pushing the limits of credibility with their prices for a top case and panniers. I liked the design of the Shad, and it is half the price of BMW's. IMO the fitting kit looks better than BMW's one supplied with the bike, and will be easier for attaching soft luggage. The top case easily takes two helmets and goes on and off the bike very easily. Yes, it doesn't exactly match my bike and yes, you need a different key, but as I will only be using it when I go touring it fits my requirements perfectly. Quality is very good and I am very pleased. Sportsbikeshop's service was very impressive. The fitting kit they advertised wasn't correct for my bike, but the return process was very easy and the money was refunded immediately.

Shad top box looks nice quality as alternative to Givi/Kappa. I went for this as all the Givi boxes that I have seen need the key putting in the lock to open the lid. With the Shad the box is locked on the fitting plate but the lid can be in an unlocked position with the key in my pocket. I find this works nicely as my bike is in the garage all all night and i just open it to put in lunch box then close it to a safe position to get to work without fitting a key. I have a Sprint GT as well and this box works the same. The Shad box is a lot lighter than a factory box but at around half price means its a bargain. Locking mechanism seems safe and easily worked to fit to bike and fits well to the supplied locking plate. Does not look out of place on BMW R1200RS sport.
